Its a 28 man provisional squad. I reckon only 3 will go. England have 4 with John Ruddy for the Peru game.

When it gets to a penalty shoot out it is not about who is good at penalties, it's about having the nerve and confidence. The 'golden' oldies have never delivered so I say should it get to penalties then let the newbies take them who have no fear.

France goalkeeper Steve Mandanda has been ruled out of the World Cup because of a neck injury.

The 29-year-old, who is number two behind France captain Hugo Lloris, cracked a vertebra in his neck while playing for Marseille on Saturday.

Mandanda confirmed his withdrawal on Twitter, saying: "It is with great sadness that I announce that I will not be able to take part in the World Cup."

He is likely to be replaced by Charlton Athletic's Yohann Thuram-Ulien, 25.

Mandanda, who has 16 caps for his country, was struck in the face by the knee of Guingamp's Mustapha Yatabare.

Marseille won the game, which was their final league fixture of the season, 1-0.

France are in Group E of the World Cup, which begins on 12 June.

They will play Honduras in their opening game on 15 June, before also facing Ecuador and Switzerland.

All the top nike boys have been out in Brazil this week as they're obviously key sponsors for the World Cup.... They now won't be going back as the bus they were on was held up by guns. No injuries but obviously very shaken and won't reach the news. Bollocks to going out there

I was at that game, apart from that holland looked real ordinary, Robben and Schneider were definatly missed.
Ecuador fans were excellent value!
