Can't believe that. What happened? Loved old school 80's comedy. They just don't make it like that anymore.

Rest in peace the people's poet. A great loss0

He was so funny that he even made Jackanory worth watching, which led to a mate nearly ODing after watching George's Marvelous Medicine!
Utterly hilarious in everything he done, I feel quite numb.0 -

Very sad.
Bottom was a favourite of mine in my mid teenage years, saw it live a couple of times

The Young Ones is one of those programmes that despite only two series is one of the most influential comedys0

Bloody Hell
Saw him live in Bottom and The New Statesman in the past, complete madman in the nicest possible way.
RIP Sir Flash0 -
I saw both of those on stage too, bottom was the funniest thing I've ever seen live. Laughed from start to finish. Loved the young ones, there'd been nothing like it on TV before. He was also great as Colin, the bass player in bad news.Big William said:Bloody Hell

Shocking and very sad news. Watching those BBC retrospectives, you realise how important he and his generation were back in the 80s0

Anyone remember the series him and Ade did for ITV called Hardwicke House?
They showed two episodes then didn't bother with the rest as it was so badly received.0 -
