    It's taken a wonderful goal from a world-class player to beat Iran. With the way things are going now, Iran may even be able to play some meaningful games in preparing for tournaments like this. Team Melli have done themselves proud.

    90 mins of hard work and they leave Reza on a one man marking mission on Messi on the edge of their own box!

    Reza has done well, ran out of legs on his second chance I think, which is hardly surprising given the amount of effort he put into the game.

    4 minutes added time , about 1 and a half of those were actually played , alright , the likelihood is Iran wouldn't have scored , but it's the principle , Argentina and Brazil especially seem to be getting special treatment this World Cup , Iran were superb though , Reza looked composed , ran his socks off , and actually put it about a bit , very impressed

    No justice in football, Iran & Reza deserved to get something from that game.

    As a side remark, how great was it to hear them mention Charlton so often, well done Reza you did our club proud today!

    Gutted, but Iran can still get through this group. My favourite World Cup game by a distance so far, felt a zillion times more involved in that than any other game. Big respect ought to go to Iran, so cue Alan Greeistas and their patronising attitude.

    Biased but Ghocchannejhad, the Iranian left back and the Iranian keeper were the best 3 players today

    I thought the keeper was excellent too, nearly got to Messi's goal, but his concentration throughout was fantastic.
