So, not too much pressure on the boy then...1

Gimme 5 years, finally a decent proven striker1
-
great news.....he's also on twitter for those who use it @igorvetokele0

Surely we cant be spending 1.6m on him? Seems a lot considering the necessary revamp of the whole squad that is needed, unless we have a number of frees lined up for CB, wingers, GK etc?0

That's a bit harsh onbarstool said:Gimme 5 years, finally a decent proven striker
Abbot, Mooney, Church, Sordell...................yeah, I make you right

When I read that first line I got a bit worried :-)No.1 in South London said:Vetokele, who joined Copenhagen in 2012, spoke to the Lions' official website

Maybe Roly will spend what is required, he's not actually said what our transfer budget is....keeping his cards close to his chest, I'm sure we'll have freebies etc lined up as I'm pretty sure there's lots of decent ones knocking aboutAddicted said:Surely we cant be spending 1.6m on him? That, or contrary to rumour, RD is not in fact stripping the club down but does in fact intend to spend money for its benefit. Admittedly this is a long shot...2 -
Is sensible of him... If he comes out saying he's got a transfer budget of say £10m (exagerated I know) prices will instantly be inflated by clubs he wants to buy players fromElthamaddick said:

#cafc very confident of completing Igor Vetokele on a long-term deal. Not sure finer details done yet but should be okay.0 -
Apologies if someone has already posted this, but I take it we can rip off the Yaya Toure song for Igor at Brentford...

My thoughts too, Simmo.Simonsen said:
IF he scores loads of goals, he might not go back to Standard (they can't get in the Premier League and that's where the REAL money is) and if he goes for loads of dough, it might just be because he's on a long contract and can't walk away for free.buckshee said:Why worry about contract length? Won't stop him going back to Liege when he starts scorinr or going elsewhere for loads of dough if he becomes fantastic will it?
If he scores plenty of goals for Charlton, he becomes hot property.
And the longer the contract, the more it'll cost the buying club.
The Prem clubs won't even blink at the fee - they get £100m for getting relegated.

Interestingly, according to ekstrabladet - Danish tabloid, a number of Belgian clubs were after him, including Standard Liege!
http://ekstrabladet.dk/sport/fodbold/dansk_fodbold/superligaen/fc_koebenhavn/article2287810.ece
And in the survey at the bottom of the article, Vetokele was voted the best (or least weak) attacker, Cornelius, briefly of Cardiff, pooling over half the votes as the weakest limk in attack.
Rurik Gislason and Bolanos, all previously linked with Charlton, also fared well in the survey in midfield.
I have googled like mad, and no sign of a fee disclosed anywhere, or even a runmour of one.0 -

Deal is done. Igor Vetokele passed his medicals at Charlton Athletic. Striker signed a 5-year contract. Fee 3M euros. #CAFC
This fee seems to get bigger with every tweet5 - Sponsored links:

£1m on the pitch, gawd knows what on the Academy and now £2.4m on ONE player.
RD out.9 -
Blimey - he has a lot of expectation on his shoulders with that fee and contract length.
Welcome and good luck, Igor.0 -
All he needs to do is bag a brace on his debut. Let's hope he works out better though.Callumcafc said:That's almost as much as we paid for Francis Jeffers!!!

Clearly RD is running us into the ground by signing expensive players on long term contracts.19
