I think it could still go either way, but I would also say that this is the right time to get some money on us as it could definitely go the right way. This is a big signing.0

I am going to put a whole € on us not going down. Bookies - what do they know, heh?

Never heard of him but reads like a the sort of player who will put people on the edge of their seats.

I watched this match live and Iceland were stunning. Just checked back to see if our JoBerg played and he did!

He's saying he couldn't get board admission, no email received since yesterday but has messaged me this - he's a good friend of his and him and 4 or 5 others will be coming to The Valley a couple times to cheer him on.
"he can play in any of the attacking position but his natural position is left attacking winger in 4-3-3
he can dribble, is quick with good crosses
can score great goals
his crosses are probably his strongest weapon"

Sounds horrifically like stuff that was written about Danny Green when we signed him. And I still think Danny Green will come good so this guy is going to be incredibleAtletico Addick said:He's saying he couldn't get board admission, no email received since yesterday but has messaged me this - he's a good friend of his and him and 4 or 5 others will be coming to The Valley a couple times to cheer him on.

Even though he seemed to lack acceleration to get past his man, to me the biggest question was of his reading of the game and concentration.
Johann Berg Gudmundsson (no doubt he'll be reduced to JBG in Red Midland's match threads!) seems to have a bit of fire in his belly, pace to get past his man and footballing intelligence to be in the right place at the right time.

Good to hear about other parts of his game. When we signed Green he was doing it for a team relegated from League 1. Gudmundsson has been a regular in a Dutch top division side and has experience of international football. Big difference. And he's lived over here before for as a youth player at two other London clubs, so there should be less of a concern over him settling here.5

I await the 'Gudmundssons' New House' debate with great anticipation...Garrymanilow said:

Danny Green scores the odd spectacular goal but to score the 3 quality goals that Gusmundssons scored against the Swiss would take Green 3 seasons. Green also lacks positional discipline and pace. At the higher level, wandering out of position causes problems as mistakes are exploited. If Danny Green was Icelandic he would not be in the Icelandic team.
Getting a decent player in at left wing / left midfield really strengthens that area. Harriots is good but can be variable. Gudmundsson in this area will both encourage Harriots to play his best to get in the team. Also to take the pressure off him as it is not all on his shoulders.
It is a good and encouraging transfer.1 -
The real question though is who do you think is better; Wagstaff or Gudmundsson?thenewbie said:

My first post in here and wanted to give you some information on your newest signing Johann Gudmundsson.
His natural position is left winger although he can play both wings and as a striker if needed. He can run past players, deliver great crosses and score some fantastic goals as most of you have probably seen on youtube. I think his game is well suited to the championship and he will give Chartlon a lot of options in attack. He´s good one vs one and been in Netherlands for 5 years he's good on the ball also.
He played for my club Breidablik in Iceland before he went to Netherlands and is a good friend with my brother so i know him quite well. He will be a great addition to the team and we can't wait to see him in a Charlton shirt.
My mate is a huge Charlton fan and he wanted me to give you my thoughts on him as a player for those who haven't seen him.

Excellent post. Johann Gudmundsson will get a great and warm welcome from Charlton supporters. I have been impressed with what Johann G has said so far about signing for Charlton. It is clear he is happy for signing for Charlton. Most encouraging signing of the season so far.grassi20 said:My first post in here and wanted to give you some information on your newest signing Johann Gudmundsson.
