How are we going to get your fan club over 20k if you keep upsetting people Henners :-)Henry Irving said:

As ever you are missing the point. From the moment these players arrived I was bigging up our chances based on their valuations. Whereas you simply stated "it's a bumpy road" and "we might finish anywhere between 1st and 23rd". As ever about as much insight as a fecking horoscope!Henry Irving said:
Which is rather the point everyone else who was laughing at your dependence on transfermarket.com was making.seriously_red said:
Anyone who has seen CAFC this season simply knows we have better players than last season.
We can SEE they are better players, we don't need a silly website to tell us that.
: - )
Whereas I simply stated this lot look a hell of a lot better than last season's mob.
If it's that silly why was there such a high correlation between the assigned squad value of last seasons championship clubs and the final league position? And for the Jupiler league the correlation is even higher.
For someone with an 'A' level in stats you spend a lot of time laughing at data - perhaps you should have spent more time listening?
Calm down, you're about to blow a gasket.
I first said "bumpy ride" when Roland first came in, not just in the summer, and have been proven right.
Three managers, floods of ineffective loans, staff redundancies including the two most senior office staff, huge turnover of players, young player of the year leaving, new pitch, tidied up ground, staying up with two games to go only for that coach to leave, getting off to a flyer this season, what next?
Will still be a few more bumps in the road with Roland in charge IMHO but as I said in January when he took over it might take 3 or 4 years but we'll get there. I hope I over estimated that time scale but we shall see.
I've been pro-Roland every since he came but not in the "he can do no wrong, he is perfect" way that you have.
And it is still a silly website. It tells us that Derby's squad is more valuable than ours. Wow. Did anyone really need a website to tell us that but back in the real world we beat Derby. QED0 -
Wonder if Igor will pick up a 2 week injury which will keep him out of travelling to Angola...1

quality not quantity is what matters as Roland was telling me in Belgium : - )RedChaser said:

If you include his goal at Portsmouth, he has scored 2 with his head, 2 with his right foot and 2 with his left. !
In cricketing terms - he's very much an all-rounder.1 -
His English is fantastic too0
-
And in footballing terms - he's not that bad at all!The_President said:If you include his goal at Portsmouth, he has scored 2 with his head, 2 with his right foot and 2 with his left. !

The first "proper" run out I saw him have was at Portsmouth. I reckon he was playing at around 60% that day and he terrified the Portsmouth back four. Said on the post match thread we had something special on our hands and clearly we have.
My fear is that if we don't go up this season and he scores 25 goals, he'll be gone. Given that he is on a 5 year contract I would hope if he did go we'd get a big fee.1 -
I think we would get a second season at this level out of him unless someone came in with a 10 million plus offer.
That is all assuming he continues to score for fun at this level.
Either way, nice that our worry is now about losing a star striker rather then where the goals will come from.1 -
If this happens is there a worry that we get nothing as he goes to have a crack at the champions league with Standard?Clem_Snide said:

The way there season has started they might struggle to get into Champions League0 -
If he went to SL, the fee would not be big, part of group0
