To many guys behind jump ! The ones they cant multi task and struggle with a single task.
  • The can thing is a good idea, a mate who supports FC United says their supporters club always gets in touch with the bar at whatever ground they are visiting, bearing in mind they are taking 1000+ as opposed to the usual few dozen the clubs they are playing are used to, and tell them not to worry about serving draught, as they can turn cans around quickly enough to keep the hoards happy, and keep the price down while still making more in a day then they usually take in months.
  • Why don't they just get more staff?
  • If you are referring to the FC United situation Stu, because to find ten extra, competent staff for one afternoon (ie, those who know that Magners comes with ice, and the difference between tonic and lemonade) and teach them the prices would be all but impossible.

If you are winding up Curb it,

    don't be so naughty...

Bugle seem to manage fine with their six or seven, it's about quality not quantity....so the girls tell me :-)

Is that way of telling people you're not going then?
  • Perhaps some form of aptitude test for the staff before they start work (count to eleven without removing your socks) would improve the rate in which the pub sells beer.
Getting there staff from an employment agency based in Penge doesn't help. I swear that play dumb on purpose.
To not only have the empty look, but also act it, they must support Palace...

the stoke game, the fella behind the bar was more concerned with practicing his 'cocktail' skills than serving people in a hurry. he broke a couple of glasses too.

I'm thinking that might be a good idea, unfortunately, as it is the usual pub of choice for most of my friends, i couldn't get them all to move so i can drink as well. so its either, stay sober, drink beer/wine and get ruined after 15 mins, or go elsewhere on my own. none of which are appealing at the mo.
  • get ruined!

Its all in the mind Suze, if you don't get pie-eyed on vodka, then why get wobbly on beer? It's all only alcohol after all. Mind over matter...

    cant understand drinking before a game - even if I didn't drive I don't think I would.

Only twice have I had a drink before a game - 1st was midweek pre-season friendly v Liverpool at the Valley in '85 when folks were away and I went straight from work and having time to spare had a pint beforehand. 2nd time was before the play-off final in 98 when I went by train and mates i was with had a couple so thought it rude not to join in.

otherwise can't see the point. Either too many and you don't rememvber the game (probably why most of you on here think we are going up automatically and think we will win on friday) or keep having to dash out during the game for a leak.....and miss all the action.
  • Too right Golfie.

Enjoying yourself at football, whatever next.
  • Maybe you woudnt be so miserable with a few beers inside you golfie.

I'm obviously too drunk at every match to notice....but what action? you give me the impression week in week out in your regular posts/rants/moans that there is no 'action' to speak of......! the message you're giving out is now somewhat confused!
  • You know 'action' - a Charlton player missing a sitter, a misplaced pass, a long ball that doesn't work, someone backing out of a tackle. I know that's what I go to football to see - that way I can have a bloody good moan about it afterwards....

I'm thinking this for the reasons that we are higher in the league than Palace and score more goals then them (something i think you point out wins games) and the fact we are only 5 points off of automatic promotion with plenty of games left.
