Naby Sarr, Vibe and Paterson would all be great signings but doubt we'll end up with any of them let alone all three. Tomorrow's dealings are huge!

It seems Vibe wears no. 29. Is that why we got rid of George? The plot thickens. ;-)

Get him in, play him on the wing and let JBG play through the middle

JBG behind the striker(s) or central midfield in a 4-4-2? Not strong enough defensively or energetic enough to play CM for me. We don't have a striker that can play up front on his own so there'd be no point playing JBG behind Watt or Vetokele either.
You're right given the players currently at our disposal. But IF we could get a couple of decent ball-winners around him, then JBG has some of the attributes to make him an effective centre-midfielder. He reminds me of Claus Jensen (although not yet in his class) in as much as he can carry the ball and looks to create but doesn't have a physical side to his game. But he's still only his first season in English football and he could yet develop into a really good player if the penny drops regarding work-rate.

Whilst Vibe looks an improvement on what we have, he isn't for me, the type of striker we desperately need.

As poor as yesterday was it was noticable that we were looking to get the ball forward quicker (usually aimless long balls) if that is going to be part of the plan then a big lump is even more important.

A left footed centre back would be good . Naby Sarr and Rob Kiernan would tick this box . I suspect if this happens then Oguchi Onewyu may be off. Obviously we need a target man . I suspect these are the two positions that Luzon means.

What other outs could there be ?

Lawrie Wilson ? If so I could see Standard Liege's ex Wigan defender Ronnie Stam arriving .

If Simon Church departs surely we need another striker . The bench today was wafer thin and once Watt came on there was nothing in the way of an attacking option.

I was just about to post about Ronnie Stam. My brother in law texted me just now stating that he was told at the game today that Stam was on his way to us. Don't know if there is any real substance to it, but his source is quite reliable.
We badly need a right back. You can never have too many
My apologies. I'll see if my brother in law can recall the text message and send me a different one, but this time with the name of a forward.

Give me half an hour and I'll let you know.
That wasn't animosity aimed at you . But clearly we don't need a right back!
I know that. I just can't resist a bit if sarcasm...particularly if it's set up for me. (:

Vibe Sarr Paterson would be lovely. But still no target man.

Judging by that video Vibe needs to feed off decent approach play, and the ball being in the box, he certainly doesn't look like a target man type of player. He may be good and all that, but would we get him because that is what we need right now, or because we can 'add value'?

The Lasse Vibe rumour has been added to the Sky Transfer Centre so could have legs

I blooming hope he's got legs.

I hope he's got legs, we don't want him arsing about.

Just had a look at FM to see what type of player he is. He's rated as the best right winger in Swedish top tier, and one of the best players in the league (highest rated is Celso Borges, who we were linked with in the summer). Quick and hard working rather than really technical. Reasonably creative and definitely not a target man. Also comfortable playing up front.

I think Celso scored twice on his debut for the team he has gone on loan to, he's playing for some la liga side. He'd do amazing in the championship, shame he turnt it down.

On this Vibe guy I doubt we will get him and even if we do he's not gonna help us by the looks of things, we've got no consistent playmakers and he won't get much service. He seems like the type of player who will shine in a settled team. I don't even know what we need anymore. It's gone from me thinking we only need an attacking mid and a striker to a left back, centre back, centre mid, winger, attacking mid and a lump up front.

He hasn't really done it has he? Flattered to deceive most of the time but did do a brilliant cross for Iwelumo's last minute header at Southampton and scored a really good lob v Coventry.

Varney also scored an absolute screamer for Blackpool in the Premier League.

Scored the 2 goals that beat Palace, for which he will always be alright by me ;-)

I would have varney back. At least he ran at the defense and put crosses in.

Varney was poor but probably better than all that we have currently , unless Igor wakes up from his current slumber

Watched Scoham's video - despite Charlon type defending, Vibe moves well and gets himself in some very good positions, good anticipation, quick and decisive.

Looks useful - but in the Watt and Vetokele mould.
It would still mean no service = no goals.

We would still be lacking a forward with aerial ability and decent hold up play.

Arsenal could give us this Akpom lad after we helped them out with Coquelin.

I saw him play not too long ago. Amex isn't too far from me and I went with a Brighton fan to see their u21s play Arsenal u21s. Arsenal dominated the game and he scored a hat trick (including one penalty).

Although he has something about him physically I'm not sure he's the target man we need. It would be a lot to ask for a 19/20 year old to play that sort of role in the Championship, I don't think that's his game. A promising player but not sure how we'd do in the Championship. Had a couple of short loan spells in League One last season and failed to score.

There's a video on YouTube with his goals, also includes the chances he missed before he scored the penalty.

Apparantly we are locked in a 2 million pound battle with Reading for the Lasse fellow. Only 5-11 so he's not the tallest guy but I'd still love to have him in. Come on Roland

Not the type of player we require.
