If Chris gets the number 9 shirt he will the phantom number 9,
because we will play..... Eagles on the wing1 -
Curbs always used to sign 'hungry' players that had a point to prove. Peter Garland aside he got it right ;-) The signings of Watt, Johnson and now Eagles fit this philosophy. We've given them another chance and they need to repay us.3

Can't we pronounce his name Eag-Les instead :-)0

Can see what the board has in mind...

Oh Chris Eagles he plays midfield
He's got a name like a Nigel
Oh Chris Eagles he plays midfield
To the tune of Andy Hunt8 -
Judging by the size of Garland he was always hungry. The Red Robin said:Curbs always used to sign 'hungry' players that had a point to prove. Good signing. Proven champ player.
Gives us chance to experiment. Put him on wing, JBG behind one of our front man in a 4-5-1 away from home etc0 -
Exactly my point!mistrollingin said:

Glad we finally filled the 9 shirt. Didn't expect it to be an attacking mid but I like this signing. Perhaps still another to come0

He’s got a first name
And a last
But we’ll only sing
His last name fast
Chrrrriiiisssssss

even i am shaking my head at that one2 -
Do you really want to break up Igor and Tony already, surely the more often they play together, the better they will become as a team, whether at home or away, we need to score goals.Big_Bob said:Good signing. Proven champ player.

Not straight away but there will be times when one up front is better than two - assuming our rotten luck doesn't dictate seeing one or both on the sidelines, which seems really unlikely! Having someone who can fit in pretty much anywhere across the front four can only be a benefit as far as I'm concerned. That said, trying to get as much out of the Watt/Vetokele pairing as possible HAS to be plan A when possible.ross1 said:

Could be a good signing although he's had more comebacks than the Eagles3

Wigan and Udders at home play Igor and Tony,ross1 said:

At Derby rest Those two if need be and play Aherne-Grant and Eagles.
Not a fan of 4-5-1 only feel it works with top sides, Harry Kane can be a lone striker.
At Derby would put up with it. not in the other 2 winnable games.

Well when he is injured we can refer to him as unlawful, instead of ill eagle?killerandflash said:Can't we pronounce his name Eag-Les instead :-)

As always, I'll judge him on what he does here, but all transfer window I was asking for a creative midfielder who was over 26 and had good experience of the Championship. Eagles ticks all three boxes so I can hardly complain can I?
Pleased to see us not resting on our Laurels after Saturday. Well done to the club and welcome Chris.2 -

That's what happens when fans get organised and express their grievances in a mature fashionO-Randy-Hunt said:Woohoo. A British player who knows the championship and from outside the network.
Welcome and Good luck Chris.

EAGLES: "I just wanted to get it done. I’ve had a great feeling about being here, it’s a massive club."
He knows he hasn't signed for Wednesday right?8 -

Eagles and Gudmundsson on the wings with Watt and Vetokele up front could potentially be a deadly combination... Goal machines!!
Obviously Bulot should keep his place for now though. Still very pleased with this signing.5 -
From the video he reminds me of an JJ upgrade... Looking forward to see him in action at the Valley for sure in spite of his name!0
