  • So have you really just completely swung from incredibly pro-Network to something must be done anti-Network and then back to incredibly pro-Network or did you just have some kind of extended concussion that's worn off?
I was in a car crash yes... Complete Meire it was! Woman driver headed straight towards me on the wrong side of the road... Said she thought something was wrong but she never once considered changing direction. Even after everyone pointed out she was going the wrong way.

All good now - thanks :)

When Yann joined for the second half of last season he was something else - fantastic in the air, vision, technique and finishing. He instantly struck up a great partnership with Lewis Grabban and benefited from him running the channels. When Callum Wilson came in Yann was asked to play a deeper role but technically he has been off the boil for a lot of the season and hasn't been as sharp in front of goal. Last night he really impressed, not only with the two goals but he has really stepped up, taking responsibility to gee up both his team mates and the crowd. He has had some personal issues recently which may have affected his form but I would definitely say he's a fan favorite.

Are you worried for the future of your club, you have spent a lot of money this season should you fail to gain promotion is there a risk you could be the next Southampton or even worse Portsmouth
  • Am I really the only one who is interested in how inter-network transfer fees are agreed? We refer to a transfer "market" because there are supply and demand factors, external factors such as impending insolvency, and negotiating skills at work in that market. The only factor from that list which is involved in the network model is supply.

So how are the fees calculated, and who does it? What tools do they use? Transfermarkt? No, surely not?

Is there really an internal transfer market though? I thought it was more of a Transfer Tombola.

    Seriously though. I am interested.

    Move on…oh, sorry.
  • Both Dale Stevens and Paul Hayes scored midweek as well!

Ex charlton players always seem to score most weeks.

The good the bad and the Ugly ( or is Nicky Bailey still Injured ?)

Airman has already stated we paid around £2m for Piotr, Reza, Koc and Nego. it might be a tad less given the accounts show player acquisitions including Vetokele (rumoured at €3m) to be £4.3m. Let's not forget that the accounts also state post year end loan transactions generating £890k - that has to be for Reza, Koc, Nego and Piotr who all left around then.

Phil Chapple made mention of a very sophisticated piece of scouting kit in his interview with the Trust so valuations might be made using that or another piece of kit?

The main concern is that we (and Liege fans) really don't know who is heading up the process nor what the objectives are. There are going to be more, not less conflicts as CAFC move towards becoming a top eight club and STTV secure promotion. Who gets the investment and who gets first choice on scouted talent. For example every club in the network could do with another decent striker.

I think the actual numbers involved are small beer compared to the valuations that might be attributed to our top players in 2016. Each and everyone of our front six could be worth a small fortune come the January 2016 window.

I still maintain that our first 18 is where the important decisions are made - the Forest game reinforces that we are on the right path as once again, a mix of academy, Liege loans and open market signings performed and delivered a result.

Personal issues? Can you be more specific?

Either way, look after him. He's only on loan to you and one day will come back to his real home.

  • Bournemouth boss Eddie Howe has called Yann Kermorgant "a great man" after he got both goals in the win over Wolves

Well he's unlikely to call him a stroppy, greedy, disloyal cock is he.
  • I see that Bournemouth have brought in Kenwyne-Jones on loan from Cardiff. They already have Wilson and Pitman as well as Yann. Just a 4th choice/back-up signing or is Yann's place under threat?
  • edited March 2015
That is a very good loan ...he impressed me at the Valley. Could be above Yann.
  • Eddie Howe rotates a lot so don't think his place is under threat
  • Think Callum Wilson is injured, he went off in their last match and has withdrawn from the England u21 squad.

ther's no way that Jones is going to replace either Pitman or Kermorgant who are both having almost unbelievably good seasons .. he's been signed as insurance against injury .. Wilson is injured a t m .. one more injury to a striker could seriously harm Bournemouth's promotion run in
  • I hope Bournemouth go up! Would be nice to see how Yann, Francis and Harry Arter get on in the premier league!

Do you hope it to the point that they beat us in the last game to achieve it?

I hope Bournemouth go up mainly because otherwise I can see the club folding with the amount the have spent, and as a football fan I would hate that to happen to a club(Well maybe I would not be so bothered if it happened to our South London/Croydon neighbors)

Kind of agree, but I see Pitman as a similar type of player to Wilson, whereas K-J is more similar to Yann. I'd still put Yann ahead of K-J but he's serious competition.

Tough one.. I never want us to lose but our hopes of the playoffs are gone so not much for us to fight for! But no never want us to lose!
  • I see Pitman as similar to Yann. Bournemouth have put a late bid for that Arsenal kid as Wilson replacement. KJ just strength in depth I think.
  • Kenwyne-Jones couldn't ever score an overhead kick like Yann did, or pass a ball via his back. I think Eddie knows what a quality player Yann is and I don't see his place being under threat

Only Arter has a chance of hacking it.
  • Lets see. How will Yann get on in the PL? Well, if Bournemouth do a Burnley he might get some game time in the first half of the season, but on current showing they'll sell the farm and buy an all-new front line etc and he'll get 4 games on the bench unless someone gets injured. In Jan he will be loaned to MK Dons.
