Enjoyed Bournemouth. Thought their play was exceptional. They are the best team we've seen this season by a country mile. Lots of Yann love which he reciprocated openly (bless him). I enjoyed the celebrations and waited to watch them lift the trophy. Not an occasion you see in the flesh very often and I admire their football. Thought we were the perfect hosts which is to our credit as a club.

So much for the positives.good as Bournemouth were, we were utter toilet. We know where we have quality issues but I'm afraid today looked to me like a bunch of misfits who already know that most are leaving and therefore couldn't give a stuff. It reminded me of January when the players had given up on Bob. Also a salutary lesson that we are really not "a couple of players away from the play offs". We're are miles off. The players we are likely to be left with are not promotion standard and we certainly don't have a system or the pace that Bournemouth showed. As for our favourites who may depart - on that showing they can go and not be terribly missed. Even Jacko and Luzon's speeches were half arsed. This may be network-land or it just may be how modern footie is headed but I didnt like the feel of that today. It didn't feel genuine.

If Bournemouth needed 6 today they would've got them. Very poor all round with too many on the beach.

Thought Wilson for them was the best player I've seen at The Valley for a long time. His workrate and overall team play was brilliant.

To say they looked a league above us would be a massive understatement. Man for man better than us in every position today, which we can't really do much about if everyone has an off day. But we never looked interested in it and gifting them a two goal lead killed the game as as any sort of spectacle.

Fair play to our fans for the reception they gave them after the game which I know was much appreciated by the Cherries supporters.

Poor, inept, lack lustre, dull, uninspiring , un motivated, worthless and obviously pointless ! Ok take onboard nothing game for us and it's the last game.

But, it just looks a little like once again we have turned a period of success, back into draws followed by defeats. Is there the backbone of a squad that could achieve next season ? Unfortunately I don,t think there is. We don,t need to add 3 or 4 we need to keep 3 or 4 and replace the rest.

I just hope GL was taking notes. That's how I want my club to play next season. Pass to someone in space, close down the opposition when not in possession and when your chances come ... Take them. Gutting to think that three of their best players were rejected by us. Harry Arter has matured into a fine player as has Simon Francis. Well done Bournemouth. Your manager and team have done you proud.

I enjoyed the game. The pitch looked in great condition. Bournemouth tore into a slow Charlton defence and midfield. They looked very good. If Bournemouth were bothered they could have easily scored double the 3 they scored. Charlton were outclassed all over the pitch. Charlton were marginally better in the second half but not by much. A totally bizarre double substitution, when Watt was indicating to the bench that he was struggling left Charlton short. Luzon choose to take off Diarra, who did not look injured. Charlton unnecessarily playing with 10 men for a good 15 to 20 minutes. Did not change the result but symptomatic of the game. Charlton could have had no complaints at a 4 or 5 goal defeat.

The game today exposed the gulf in class between a promotion team / lower premeirship team and a mediocre mid table championship team thrown together. It shows how far away Charlton are from being genuine promotion candidates. Never mind 3 players short, Charlton are 6 players short on that reckoning. Being that Duchatelet is likely to cash in, that could go up. On watching the team, I was trying to work how many of these players would still be around and who's last game it was. It looks to me as that more than 60 % of those players won't be playing next season.

I did not choose to hang around at the end. I had no enthusiasm to see Bournemouth receive the trophy, who deserved the promotion. I had no enthusiasm either to applaud Charlton players / club for a very mixed and overall mediocre season. It is impossible to tell what Duchatelet's next move is, but with WHU being able to flood the market with cheap Premiership Olympic tickets the season after next, a mediocre strategy is going to see Charlton go backwards.

The Bournemouth Russian owner shows how to get a club promoted and the level of investment needed. Today was a decent reminder of whats required.

Simon Francis was excellent today as was Harry Arter. They play a fast attacking pressing game which is hard to play against.

Firstly, congratulations to Bournemouth and to Yann. Secondly,i hope they enjoyed the fact that collectively as a team we bent over and took it up the dot, couldnt have made it any easier for them if we tried. Pathetic 'performance'.

No positives at all to take from todays game so perhaps it's best to look at the bigger picture. I'll definitely settle for 12th place. A top half finish looked unthinkable after the 5-0 drubbing at Watford.

A top half finish and Millwall relegated. Not a bad season after all.

I very stupidly went today as I haven't been since Luzon was made Coach. What a disgraceful display, Watt, Vetokele don't look fit. Buyens didn't put in a tackle all game and what was he doing for the Second goal. Fox is not good enough at this level. Diarra didn't have the legs. Bulot flitted in and out of the game. Johnson is very slow, but at least he gave 100 per cent.
Yes Bournemouth are a good team but I thought our players were a disgrace. Strolling around and making it easy for Bournemouth. Walked away at the end as I didn't want to applaud that crock of shit.
We have got a lot of re- building to do.

Oh yeah you were the one who wanted to boycott on principle. Just admit you hate Charlton with the deepest passion.

It's more than just money - they are also clearly supremely fit and very well drilled.

Having said that only JBG and maybe Gomez and Henderson would get near that side.

We simply couldn't cope with them at their best. I'd love to be a defender in that team, all you have to do is collect the hoofs from the opposition and start another attack.

Wilson and Ritchie have quality but both were tossers as well.

There was such pressure on us to make the most of our rare first half attacks that we were giving the ball away whenever we got near the penalty area.

In the second half we came back at them, looking to pull it back to 1-2 and had a bit more success but lacked the clinical finish once we had pierced their back four.

That sums it well. I don't think our players lacked effort. Just a bit of calmness. If anything we probably tried a bit too hard.

What a strange post. I have been going Home and away for fifty four years. I also go to as many U18 and U21 games as I can. I am not re- hashing the reasons I stopped going as I have posted the reasons before on here. So no, I don't hate Charlton with a passion.

I know we only really had pride to play for but on that performance only 2 or 3 have any pride at all. Up front we really are lightweight and both Watt and Igor look out of shape.

Only positive was that we finished 12th which means I win a couple of hundred quid.

Need a to sign a number of quality players and get rid of a number of ordinary players if we are to improve next season.

    Positives?

    Millwall relegated

Gomez- hard to understand why he didn't start given that our centre half and midfield pairings lacked pace

Henderson- looked solid, saved a couple

    The youth sides doing well

Staying in the Championship despite looking doomed 20 matches or so ago

Bournemouth play a fast attacking game, good to watch

Only losing by 3, couldn't have complained if they won by 5 or 6

Our classy, generous reaction to their fantastic achievement

Being able to take a break from watching Charlton and Mr 'I don't like to lose' Luzon

Negatives- everything else. We were piss poor

Christ, that was a dispiriting end to the season! And if anyone still thinks we are only a couple of players away from a promotion chasing team, they are deluded. (In fact, take 2 or 3 of our better players - say Watt, Gudmundsson and Gomez - out of that team and we may well be looking at the wrong end of the table for much of next season).

Been looking forward to that game all week. Yet by 12.25 I hoped it would soon end! Delighted to get away with a 3-0 defeat - that honestly could have been a 6 or 7 goal tanking.

Others have already made the points clearly about the gulf in class and the lack of effort. So I will just say taking off Diarra when Tony Watt was already clearly crocked was just plain daft (unless of course Diarra was injured in which case I apologise to GL).

Congratulations to Bournemouth. I have just spent a lovely few days down in the New Forest and I am sorely tempted to up sticks in the not too distant future to that lovely part of the world. Will be enjoyable watching them - only on those days Charlton are away of course!

And finally, today just confirmed that selling Kermorgant was undoubtedly one of the most stupid things any Charlton Chairman has ever done. So glad he got a great reception when he went off. Hope he enjoys the Premier League and stick two fingers up to Roland every time he walks out for a match.

I was really hoping for better today. The team have been on the beach for about a month now, this was their last chance to put in a decent performance, and boy did they owe us one after the rubbish that was served up at St Andrews last week. Sadly more of the same; slow and lethargic, little idea of how to create an opening, unable to cope at the back. To be fair, Bournemouth played some brilliant football. That first 45 minutes was probably the best half of football played at The Valley all season; maybe for several seasons. On a technical level, I do not believe we have a team good enough to cope with that sort of play. Fair enough, some teams are just better. What I can't accept though is clueless shambles where everyone is bumbling around and no-one seems to bothered. For some of that team it's the last we'll see of them, with the spirit and attitude many showed this afternoon, saying goodbye isn't going to be too much of a wrench.

I don't usually question substitutions too much, but I have to ask today what on earth was Luzon up to bringing Bulot off when he did? For a good ten minutes before that Watt had been hobbling around and playing with his calves. When he was walking, he looked just like a man with one leg shorter than the other who had left his orthopaedic shoe at home. He was clearly never going to go the distance and how those on the bench didn't notice is really quite baffling. And of course, when the inevitable did happen, we were left a man down against the best team in the league. Pathetic.

Finally, congratulations to Bournemouth. You thoroughly deserved your win today, even though we did our best to make it easy for you. The passing and movement throughout the whole team would have been joyous to watch, if it wasn't us they were playing against. The one-touch attacking from Wilson, Ritchie and YK was sublime. I'm glad they got a good reception from the Charlton fans today. I'd hate us to be some sneering snivelling bunch that's too far up themselves to congratulate worthy champions.

For Charlton it was last one to the sun longer is a sissy I'm afraid and the team didn't do themselves justice. Bournemouth a star team rather than a team of stars - unless they spend big I suspect that all that team work will unravel next season.

In a way the fact that we looked at least a division apart from Bournemouth might give the owners a big enough incentive to really have a go for it.

    But I doubt it

We need a left back, two centre backs, back up keeper, 2/3 central midfielders, a wide midfielder and a new proper goalscorer

    Piece of cake then

Parts of today were demoralising, roll on August.

We weren't interested. Bournemouth still had a job to do. They did the job they had to do. They looked as of they had 10% more of everything - skill, fitness, attitude, belief, awareness...
Hopefully our players will take from that it could be us next year.
