Spoke to my pal at Sheff U late last night after the game. He truly didn't know what to say. Thought they were going to actually do it as they clawed their way back, but the defending (both sides) was poor. He only came back to football because of Cloughy. Two of the best lads you could meet. Hope they get the chance to finally do it next year. Would far rather them than that little mob in blue & white!!killerandflash said:Imagine being a Sheffield United player or fan after that...

A case of the managerial roundabout spinning off its axis .. Chesterfield's new manager is serial failure Dean Saunders as Paul Cook, who has been a great success at the club departs for Pompey .. is he mad ?

He's a strange that one Paul Cook... He took Accrington to the Playoffs lost in the semis and then departed for Chesterfield who'd finished lower down the table that seasonLincsaddick said:A case of the managerial roundabout spinning off its axis .. You can (probably) potentially take chesterfield further than Accrington and likewise Pompey further than Chesterfield.ForeverAddickted said:

Potentially but each time you've got to rebuild the squad and with a lot of clubs your not given the time because expectation is too high so with one little mistake your gone (i.e. Phil Parkinson when he left Colchester for Hull)Exiled_Addick said:

At least with Chesterfield in League One he could have strengthened the squad for an another attempt at getting to the Championship where his stock would rise even higher1 -
Dean Saunders has taken his last three clubs down. None of the relegations were his fault though. The bloke is an utter tool. Remember Paul ElliottLincsaddick said:A case of the managerial roundabout spinning off its axis ..
