I'm hoping for a tax on gambling winnings at the punter's marginal rate - this to include the lotteries.
After all tax is used as a weapon to fight cigarette addiction, right? So why not gambling? It's unearned income isn't it.
The national lottery is already a tax on the poor, you can't tax the winnings too

With inflation, the minimum wage would need to be £9 in 2020 anyway.

To be fair the measuring of inflation has been contrived so much that it's virtually meaningless.ShootersHillGuru said:

So the cost of living will only be 0.01% more expensive in 2020 compared to now ?

Fuck that's where I've been going wrong, been asking for directions to the Sydney opera house for years and getting nothing but weird looks.
Would it be wrong to atleast want the same 11% pay rise that the politicians got though ?

Personal allowance and the higher tax bracket have both gone up.

1% reduction in rent will be balanced out by the 20% plus increase in rents for those earning £30/£40k pa.
I have no idea where the loss of 4k units comes from, as rental income is only part of the financing of new homes. Funding is all about surplus and how large that is.

Your Chacellor has just announced a living wage, in 5 years time, which is below that currently available in Scotland and below that agreed by Boris to be needed in London to live now.
You acknowledge it in a professional manner...
Or...you act like IDS!2 -
Hasn't it already been said that the increased rental income will go straight to the exchequer in order to assist with reduction of the deficit?Addickted said:

There is no statutory living wage in Scotland, or at least one that will differ from the national living wage when this one is introduced, it is not a devolved matter.TelMc32 said:Your Chacellor has just announced a living wage, in 5 years time, which is below that currently available in Scotland
