he has only played in a friendly for England( i think) he would have to play in a competitive international stop him playing for another country (assuming he was eligible)

I think i remember him coming on against San marino in that qualifier we won 8-0! So he has played in a World cup match...could be wrong.

It was the home game England won 5-0.
    It was competitive.

I saw a couple of Swansea games at the back end of the season and Jonjo was running the show. He really turned his season around brilliantly. I hope he kicks on next season because England need midfielders who can weigh a pass and release our more direct attackers.
  • Don't understand how some players, namely Cleverley and Mason, get in the England squad ahead of Jonjo! Really rate him and offers something different to the team. Is there some suggestion he's not picked because he didn't want to play for the U21s or something?

I rate mason. But cleverly has always been a bizarre inclusion in England squads. Him and downing are players who shouldn't have any England caps let's be honest.

Konchesky shouldn't have had an England cap either but like Downing he had one thing going for him.

actually I think when Downing was at boro and playing in the uefa cup he fully deserved his call up and caps, should he have 35 caps? not so sure

On reflection it's a bit harsh comparing comparing Downing with Konchesky.

I wonder if Konch still hangs around the phone whenever United are in the market for a new left back?

More to do with what he said about Hodgson when he was sacked as Liverpool manager. He never refused to play for the U21s.

If he hadnt become the Dark Lord he could have gone into teaching at Hogwarts where he could have had a free banquet every night thanks to the house elves (aka Mesuit Ozil)

Five game ban and £100k fine for racism towards an opponent.

He'd have been hung, drawn and quartered if he'd said it in the thread about the new fivers.

    The cous-cous comment is fake.

I'd have wanted him banned for much longer for racism, unacceptable in the game and banning someone for only 5 games isn't much of a deterent.
