I would hope jonjo next move would be a top 6 club, I think he is the sort of player wenger needs, although he may not want.

No disrespect but I think he'd slow Arsenal down.

In terms of the Newcastle rumour, he'd certainly fill the void that they're missing at the moment since Cabaye left

Not saying he's as good as Cabaye... mean more in terms of being able to create goals
  • He can do better than Newcastle in my opinion.

Maybe not top 3 yet but he's only 22 (I think!).

Pardew wants him according to Football Gossip on the BBC.

One hopes he'll have more sense!

EDIT: Already mentioned above by Red Robin so ignore.
Why would anyone in their right mind go to Newcastle whose chairman does not want them to win things because it will cost too much.

Pardew may want him but hopefully he won't reciprocate and let's face it come august Pardew may not be there. Jonjo has had 5 managers since he left us so could do with some stability.

Its actually 6. Benitez was Liverpool manager when he went there, Then Hodgson, then Daglish, then Rodgers. Swansea he's had Laudrup and Monk.

Monk aside, who is his favourite?
  • Oh I'm not sure, I would have to ask him....
  • I think he should stay at Swansea. They're a great match already for him, especially playing with Bony, a poor man's Deon Burton.
  • People always forget he's only 22. Guy is absolutely quality, just a bit inconsistent. His pass for bonys goal was fantastic as well. Liverpool move came too early for him, but I think he's going to go to a big big club again.

Alan Hansen and Robbie savage trying to brush it under the carpet and say it was guznan's mistake and "rooneys was better" (pahahahaha). What keeper expects the ball to come straight back, 50 yards away and to go into the top corner?!

Rooney's was better. Doesn't mean this one wasn't a fantastic goal.
No it wasn't, nearly bounced over the bar.

  • Rooney's bounced on the line. Shelvey's went in the top corner. Rooney will get the nod from MOTD but Goal of the Season is all Man U will win this season.
  • #TeamShelvey
  • Shelveys is better but the Fulham volley away to Palace is better.
  • Shelvey's was most similar to a Petrov hit FOR Villa a few seasons back (vs Derby I think)
  • The problem with the England team is that there is a pecking order. It's not selected on form or the creation of a team of players that compliment eachother in a formation.

If it wasn't like that then shelvey would get his share of games as he has gone through some great spells of form.
  • But if it was purely form you never get a settled team. Would change each game. You need to do it over a period of time and I reckon will get capped in next three to four years.

He would still be too young to shoot!
  • I'm pretty sure Jonjo tried to score from a similar position when he was in our youth team, but just missed. Does anyone remember this? It may have been in an earlier round of the Youth Cup the year Sunderland beat us with goals from Waghorn and Jordan Henderson.

i laughed when on MOTD they said JJS learnt that from charlie adam at liverpool. as if.

i remember many similar efforts from JJS for us (dont think any of them want in unfortunately). I also remember one game at the Valley when I think he tried it 3 times from about centre circle - one went off for a throw on but one the keeper had to make a good save for and couldnt hold it. I was and am a huge fan of his style of play....he wants to boss it and impose himself on the game. that shows character. he doesnt hide when the going gets tough.

JJS is like thomas muller the raumdeuter (spacefinder)- he has a great knack of moving around the pitch unnoticed and popping up in key positions unmarked.

i really feel he should stay at Swansea as they could be a force with Michu and Bony if they can play together. Also why move when you are settled.

LOL really?! shelvey's was impossible to stop even if guznan was in the "correct" position. Rooney's he could've saved pretty easily if he was in the "correct" position.
cracking goal, but agree rooneys was better, his was under a bit more pressure and shelveys was not near his own half.

Top player though, should have never gone to Liverpool, should have learnt from Parker, take it one step at a time, but his head was turned and it cost him a couple of years.
Not sure you are fully aware of all the facts surronding the move! He was warming the bench for parky and Charlton were on their arse financially. Liverpool made an offer with enough money to keep Charlton afloat. The decission was more or less made for him by the club. I'm not saying he wouldn't have gone anyway but he had turned down offers from other big clubs. I see no comparisson to parker but that's just my opinion. I thought his move to liverpool was good for him. Maybe not in enough game time (but let's face it, he wasn't getting any at Charlton) but in his training and how they have built him into a much stronger player. That might have happened at Charlton, but that is only a might and at liverpool it did happen. He's trained with some of the best players in the country, played european football. All of this would have been impossible with Charlton. I fail to see why you don't think it was the right move apart from, its your team he left. I wonder if you were in that position you would have said no?
The downside of Liverpool move was he found himself behind that donkey Henderson purely in terms of fee paid justifying purchase. I had my doubts because JJ lacked pace but much quicker now. England must when Gerrard retired. Others mentioned above are different trpes of players.

Uncle, Liverpool needed him this season.

He is just going from strength to strength.

I can see Hodgson coming for him in a week or so. Why wouldn't he. His form is very strong. Wilshere is crocked, Gerrard will be knackered. Lumphard is finished. No midfielder at Manure deserves a chance. Who English, is playing better than him at the moment?
