Great strike but it seemed a half-hearted attempt by the Keeper to get there. Am I being harsh?

Think you're being a bit harsh... Longer version.... https://www.youtube.com/watch?v=ewN2WpUw5wU

Was poor goalkeeping considering it actually looped towards him, but still quick thinking and great execution from Jonjo.

Bet he's glad you probably wont end up England manager

  • I remember Steven Gerrard and Frank Lampard struggled to break into the England midfield at a young age...

Jonjo can get into the team as his passes can make things happen (two assists and a goal today)... Just needs to be patient and work hard as there is a lot of young talent (including a Defensive Midfielder who isnt that bad back at Charlton) fighting for those Midfield positions

Surely he got MOM ? 2 assists, the goal and then played the through ball for the penalty

People always forget he's only 22. Guy is absolutely quality, just a bit inconsistent. His pass for bonys goal was fantastic as well. Liverpool move came too early for him, but I think he's going to go to a big big club again.

Alan Hansen and Robbie savage trying to brush it under the carpet and say it was guznan's mistake and "rooneys was better" (pahahahaha). What keeper expects the ball to come straight back, 50 yards away and to go into the top corner?!

Rooney's was better. Doesn't mean this one wasn't a fantastic goal.

LOL really?! shelvey's was impossible to stop even if guznan was in the "correct" position. Rooney's he could've saved pretty easily if he was in the "correct" position.
  • Surely that's half the skill? The awareness to notice the keeper off his line?

cracking goal, but agree rooneys was better, his was under a bit more pressure and shelveys was not near his own half.

Top player though, should have never gone to Liverpool, should have learnt from Parker, take it one step at a time, but his head was turned and it cost him a couple of years.

I can't wait for the day that Charlton can keep it's talent rather than selling them to The Premier League Standard Liege

After this world cup there are going to be a few international retirements, no one knows if JJ can make the step up but I can see no reason why he won't get the opportunity. The only thing that may hold him back is this insane focus of the press and England management on so called big clubs.

Er, Parker was surely not the best example ? Was he not out the door first time a big club came in ? ...which cost him reaching full potential

I'm sure that time at Liverpool would have contributed a lot to his development to be fair. He really is the beating heart of the Swansea team. The other players are always looking to get the ball to him.

Took it to mean learn from parkers mistake, not do what Parker did.

Must have been tough decision for the boy. Go to Liverpool or be Parkinson's bench warmer.
  • I still think there are quite a few players in front if him for a regular role in the England team. He will play at Premier League for the remainder of his career though.

    Great Goal.

How much talent have you seen that a club like Standard Liege would be interested in buying?!?! lol.
