Last time they ran a story like that about JBG we all know what happened the next day...colin1961 said:More good news
CHARLTON have set their sights on securing Jordan Cousins on a new contract.
The Addicks are ready to hand a four-year deal to last season's Player of the Year.
A number of clubs are tracking Cousins but the South Londoners are confident he will follow Johann Berg Gudmundsson in penning a long-term contract.
See tomorrow's South London Press for the full story.2 -

Never even heard of the first signing today, that one was under the radar or i just failed to notice it discussed, looks exciting.
One or two more tomorrow and our squad is looking much better with a good amount of pre season left for team building.0 -

I posted the following on the updated squad list!
Was getting confused with all the rumours of incomings, and with the Bite size thread missing in action, I have gone through a few threads and have compiled a list of those we have been lined with/have had on trial! My info is all third hand/from Wikipedia so feel free to correct anything...

Ipswich and Sheffield Wednesday believed to be interested in Wiggins. Source:SLP0

Swap for Tom Lees with Massives?0

Ipswich would be a good move for him. Hope he gets a deal sorted as he seems a good egg.8

Don't forget that our Academy Head of Recruitment Paul Senior joined Wednesday two months ago so would have the inside line on Rhoys1
-
Don't think Rhoys will be keen on a move to Sheffield tbh, could see Ipswich perhaps though. He'd still be backup to Parr though.0
-
Good shout on Paul senior. His mrs is most probably wiggins agent.0

Parr. Is that the ex Palace player? Wiggins (if fit and firing) is a lot better from what I have seen.covered end junior said:Don't honk Rhoys will be keen on a move to Sheffield tbh, could see Ipswich perhaps though. He'd still be backup to Parr though.
I will be very sad to see him go. A player I have really enjoyed watching over the last few years, excellent ability and gets some very harsh criticism on here IMO.
I am intrigued by our acquisitions this summer and delighted JBG (and now rumoured Cousins) have signed up long deals but do feel continuity and Championship experience is very much a key ingredient for success, especially on a smaller budget (see Ipswich last season).
Ps. Before BobCAFC7 lols me for being negative i used the word intrigued as I struggle to be excited by a player I literally know nothing about. My gut feeling is a positive one however.7 -
I think he's been great for us. Was real class and a cut above in the league 1 title winning season. Although I wasn't there that cross he put in for Kermorgant to score away at Oldham when we were down to 9 men. I can imagine going mental if I were there that day.Valley11 said:Ipswich would be a good move for him. Hope he gets a deal sorted as he seems a good egg.
I think he's easily held his own in the champ and but for the 2 recurring injuries he would still be mine and our first choice!!!!
If you want to talk about wishing someone like Church well upon leaving (which I do) then this man gets it multiplied by 100 if he does go. A decent player who will be remembered as a key component of the great league 1 title win27 -
Sadly he didn't really push on since League One. Injuries haven't helped, but I remember Zaha tearing him a new one against Palarse and we've barely seen him since that game. I'd wish him well if he left, but I think he's stood still in the last couple of years and we'd not miss him as much as we once might have.cabbles said:
