I've often wondered about Smith, what with his pronounced movement outside off, whether it would be a good move to bowl around the wicket aiming at leg stump.

We were doing that in the 1st innings.

Lots of teams have tried that, but seem to have found his hand/eye coordination is so good he doesn't actually miss.

Bar that innings at Lords where he was effectively batting on the M25, I think England have actually bowled really well to him.

    73-2 at tea.

42 overs left (extra half hour from yesterday), so play will go on until 7pm, weather permitting.

Think the Aussies will build a big lead here now. If we have to chase anything over 200 we will be done for.

Need them to lose another two wickets before getting into credit, but I think Clarke might play a captains innings and get a big score.

This isn't the Waugh era Convicts this lot are more like a load of bullies that can win the day but are just as prone to collapse as any other team. That and with the once brilliant Clarke a shadow of a batsman their middle order is a shambles.

Bloody hope not, we're going tomorrow. Hotel booked and everything.

He says, whilst furiously checking the refund T&C's on the back of the tickets.

    Come on Oz.

Here's hoping you get to see the final few wickets fall leaving a tiny runs chase and then an afternoon, evening and night celebrating.

This is not over yet by a long shot. They are only 55 behind. Never mid chasing over 200, chasing over 100 will be edgy.

Mitchell escaped there. Finn had a shout for lbw turned down. Appealed, but stayed with the umpire, although it was clipping the top of middle.
