George showed moments of real class, and I felt like he was slowly getting to grips with the pace of the league.
Unfortunately, when we went through that awful patch, way too much responsibility was placed on his shoulders. He was asked to fill a giant Kermorgant-shaped hole, while compensating for the fact that Igor was perpetually hobbling and Church was perpetually shite. He definitely had some poor games toward the end, but that needs to be placed in the context of a team that didn't win for 3 months. Surrounded by players like Watt, Mak and a fit Igor, George could potentially thrive.6 -
I remember saying that George had something in there somewhere, but unfortunately it was only once every 7 or 8 games.1

Yes, that was a struggling team. Someone new to England and English football was always going to find it hard. Buyens also went through a bad spell mid season, when he contributed nothing, it happensdaveydanger said:George showed moments of real class, and I felt like he was slowly getting to grips with the pace of the league.

George has something to offer, don't know what it is though. Still haven't forgiven him for that last minute miss ...0

Why has his loan been cut short? Not good enough?0

Don't know if this is true - but he wasn't getting any game time at all.Covered End said:

I, too, rated George. (In patches!)
His first half against Derby was probably one the the rare cases of a striker being almost unplayable.
Also, I remember the 2-0 v Bolton. Scored a goal of the season contender in the first half, and was heavily involved in another (laying off the ball to Jacko) in the second.
He had, real fitness issues, though. But if anyone can get the best out of him, it's Luzon.
But, without a shadow of a doubt, you could never have him and Watt on the pitch at the same time! Therein lies the stuff of nightmares...2 -
LOAN WINDOW: The emergency loan window is now open for Football League clubs... pic.twitter.com/122V1saAZE

one noticeable thing about Tucudean,
the last three clubs he has been at (Liege, Us, Steaua) have all been looking to offload him reasonably quickly.
He is now racking up the 'failed to settle / make a positive impression' at successive clubs, and when one of those is back in your home country following unsuccessful spells abroad, that indicates a player whose career is heading south.5 -
Heading South.....is he signing for Bolton?AFKABartram said:one noticeable thing about Tucudean,

I can see several players on that list who Charlton would most certainly benefit from having onboard.LargeAddick said:

It's pointless loaning someone in, who is just going to be a bench warmer. Waste of the budget. Unless Guy is to rotate a fair bit.
If a loanee is due to come straight into the 11, who would you take out?

Take out bergdich and get a left winger in_nam11 said:It's pointless loaning someone in, who is just going to be a bench warmer. Waste of the budget. Unless Guy is to rotate a fair bit.

I'd have Wilson can play across the front or off the striker and he's hungry0
-
Bergdich possibly. I think I'm in the minority and think he's a decent player.
It's difficult as we definitely need more depth in areas, but find it pointless paying prem wages, or a portion of, unless he will be starting most games.1 -
According to Ketts:
The mystery of Steau Bucharest's cancellation of George Tucudean's contract remains unresolved.
The natural assumption is that he will return to Charlton, but could the Addicks also have annulled the Romanian's deal?
They could not cancel it without the player's consent but neither could Steau send Tucudean back to London without Charlton's consent.
With Katrien Miere on holiday until the end of the week, it may be a few days before the situation is clarified.
Tucudean has not yet returned to The Valley and there has to be a possibility that the player has secured a deal elsewhere.
If his contract with Charlton - which has another two years to run - is cancelled, he would be a free agent and could sign a permanent deal outside of the window.
Hope you do not mind Ketts, I think people on here will be interested0 -

I like him. I think once he's settled and adjusted he will be a very good signing._nam11 said:Bergdich possibly. I think I'm in the minority and think he's a decent player.

Kevin Nolan is training with Orient apparently after being released by west ham. Reckon he'd be pretty decent for us if his wage demands weren't silly.5

You are not going to drop Kashi or Cousins for him (and maybe not even Ba). Don't see where he would fit in.jac52 said:Kevin Nolan is training with Orient apparently after being released by west ham. Reckon he'd be pretty decent for us if his wage demands weren't silly.
