Another Bitter Ex-Employee (Michael Morrison)

If a player like MM makes the comments he has, there is obviously a lot more he can say.
Well done MM the heart has been ripped out of the club.
RD and KM go away and leave our club.11 -
f** him .. he was good for us but he's long gone .. I hope BigMak sticks it right up him tomorrow5

This story makes me sad/frustrated/angry. As C-A-F-C says above 'No doubt Katrien would tell us its proven to be the right decision'.
Despite the failed Duchatalet experiment I still support dialog alongside the Spell it out in Black & White campaign.4 -
Is it too soon to look at train tickets to Plymouth?0

That's a miserable story. And if true the amount of restraint that Morro's shown in that interview is incredible. No wonder he fitted the Powell ethos so well when he was here, and frankly no wonder he didn't fit in with the soulless Belgian experiment. Fingers crossed one day we get the characters backHenry Irving said:
That's what i heard. Was slagging off MM in Dutch to his coaches forgetting that JBG speaks Dutch.charltonbob said:
Don't know about squaring up, but heard Peeters was basically taking the piss out of morro & mocking his ability & thats what created bad blood between Peeters & the squadNug said:I might be making this up but I'm sure I heard he and BP squared up to each other during training. Should never of let him go. Another massive recruitment failure by our owners.

Option 1, we have to take our chances that new owners reorganise this mess.drewman said:
Yeah that's what worries me.Chizz said:Who cares what an ex-player thinks? It would have been great if he'd stayed. But he'd have been out of contract soon anyway. What's more important is who's here now, and who's coming next.
Option 2, better the devil you know and let the current regime s*** all over us and leave us thoroughly miserable.0 -

Letting him go was clearly a mistake but hindsight is a wonderful thing.
At the time the centre- half partnership of TBH/Bikey was very well received on here and dissent about MM 's departure was fairly muted IIRC.0 -
His style was never likely to be favoured by a European style coach! Still in my eyes he is one of the best CBs in the league! Was very annoyed when he lef! And the fact that barely two months later we were desperately searching around for another CB and ended up with Roger Johnson just says it all!!6

            Utterly depressing ....2

Michael Morrison - an addick legend. How did anybody ever think someone like Bikey was ever better than him?
Peeters took us backwards; o but he was a great success according to our queen Katrien!
Thanks for some great memories Morro, and thanks to CP for bringing you to the Valley.
Morro, Yann , Stevo -but this lot never make a mistake do they?11 -

That is the worrying thing. The Belgians think all is well whilst all around them are in a state of depression.redman said:Michael Morrison - an addick legend. How did anybody ever think someone like Bikey was ever better than him?

Unfortunately it looks like RD believes her.0 -
What an honourable, dynamic, go- getting CEO we have!

Loved his goal at Bristol city! A quality strike from a player who was deemed less than skilful. He was in the away end of the toolbox with us too, proper bloke!6
 -
A tough read but, sadly, not that surprising. Another example of the football needs of the squad being subjugated to short term financial considerations and RD's agenda. Trying to hawk Morro to some unknown Romanian club is really distasteful, particularly given the leadership and grit that he and Jacko displayed in getting us out of a hole the previous season.
Easing Morro out was a particularly idiotic decision by Peeters (now unemployed, I see) and KM. The only silver lining to this particularly dark cloud is that Morro was presumably able to negotiate himself a decent deal with Birmingham and he now finds himself playing under a proper manager.7 -
Remember Morro scoring a great goal at home to Stevenage in our 100pt season.
Whoever made the decision to let him go should be castrated!
I'm sure in his last full season here that he came 2nd or 3rd in the
player of the year award.
Some of the mistakes these clown in charge have made are unbelievable!3 -
Hope he got a great reception today as he did earlier in the year.1

Hope he had a fuckin stinker.3

The Michael Morrison saga, is just another, of the tens of examples, of how RD runs the club saving money.
RD's priority is to break even, not footballing success.
You can't break even by paying for a decent squad, so you can't have a decent squad, unless there are a substantial amount from the academy on very low wages.
Ben Haim and Bikey started last season exceptionally well. Gomez being a priority prospect to be showcased was 3rd choice. So Morro was 4th choice.
RD doesn't want to fork out, probably £6K per week, on a player who won't play.
1 years wages = £300K, so RD feels we should get rid for nothing, even if it means we can't get a £300K fee for him.
I see the logic from RD's point of view.
Unfortunately RD has no interest in football success.
So even if we are now moving up the table, the same process will happen continually, unless RD decides to increase the budget. He will have to change his strategy/plan and be willing to lose say £7M a season instead of £4M.
Will he do this ? I doubt it.
