    Vertonghen has played LB for Belgium for the last 2-3 years. Puzzling. As is playing Fellaini instead of Dembele

    Decent half.

    Belgium are skillful but very tame in the final third. They seem to take their time and enjoy passing the ball about, but this just allows the Italians to double back in defence - limiting themselves to long shots.

    Can't work out if Belgium are just under performing here, or if we just overrate them and think of them as being a good side because most of their team play for top premier league clubs.

    Also surprised that Italy don't have a striker better than Pelle.

    this .. Vertongen and Alderweired is the best central pair in the prem ..a case of great players and a rubbish manager and tactician perhaps

    Overrating them. People have been overrating them at tournaments for years now.

    Thing is the Belgian team has 4 centre backs across the back, 3 central midfielders, 2 wingers who like to cut inside a lot and Lukaku up front. At least Mertens coming on now will give them a bit more width, I'd like to see Carrasco come on for Fellaini though
