Whilst England are in the tougher half, the draw seems more even now with Belgium and Portugal in the top half along with Croatia.

Almost feel sorry for Turkey on account of Italy's dodgy team selection, but I don't really. Happy for Ireland.

England, the Irelands and Wales all having a party, while Willy-no-mates Scotland sits at home and drinks buckfast on his own.

Wales and N.Ire will both believe they can make at least the semi finals because, of the fancied sides, Belgium are probably the least intimidating and Wales have recently beaten them in qualification.

All setup nicely for England to go out on penalties in the semis, to ze Germans.

Great draw for Wales. I think they'll go further than England.

    Love Robbie Brady's wiki page:

Robert "Robbie" Brady (born 14 January 1992) is an Irish professional footballer who plays as a winger for Championship club Norwich City and the Republic of Ireland national team. Where he scored and beat the bloody Italians.

Some surprise countries have crashed out in the first stage

Russia, Ukraine, Czech Republic, Sweden and Austria would all have hoped to go through

Poor Italy win the group and have a potential Spain, Germany, France, Croatia route to the cup. Bet they wish they had drawn a couple of matches instead.

Or they back themselves to beat anyone and by the final they will be on fire.

Suspect there's a few sore heads in Lille this morning. I was actually shaking with joy last night when Robbie scored, and for quite a while after. Wes with a truly wonderful pass and Brady never once took his eye off the ball. Classy finish!! COYBIG!!

Jamie Vardy has signed a new 4-year deal at Leicester

Oh dear Arsenal, you cant even sign Leicester players now!!

So glad to hear the news.

Vardy will play every match at Leicester. ( other than the last 10 minutes at times)
He's been given 100K a week, 4 year deal at the Foxes.
The extra 20K a week that Arsenal offered means nothing in comparison to how much Vardy will make from the film and book that will be made and written in the next year.
I also wonder if Vardy may lose some of his speed in the 3rd or 4th year of his contract ? (32 and 33 then)

Just hope that Kanate, Drinkwater and the superb Mahrez all stay.

The only losers here are Fleetwood Town who have lost out on a windfall.

Fleetwood got £1m as a Non-League club though so that would have been huge for them.

People complain that Vardy used Leicester to simply get a new Contract but I think its more indepth than that and deserved the Contract regardless... Theo Walcott on the other hand was a prick when he'd been out injured for the season and demanded a new Contract from Arsenal else he'd leave for Liverpool!!
  • Thanks fck for that, Thursday and Friday seemed to last as long as the first two weeks of the competition.

8hrs of knockout football starting at 2pm.

Plotting up in the living room with a bucket of beers today.

    Ave it

Northern Ireland for Father Liam Finnegan, Father Ted Crilly and myself - Father Dougal McGuire still can't grasp the notion that there are two Irish teams at the Euros
