Builders in at the training ground

I would like this to be true. However I am sceptical that it will happen, and the training ground development has been trumpeted as one of the major achievements of this regime, but it is absolutely years away.Swisdom said:
From slightly closer to the inside I slightly disagree - but it is a disappointment that there are these delays.seth plum said:This development is never going to happen under Duchatelet, it never was.
From what I can see from the outside everybody involved in planning, driving and completing this project are useless wankers.
Unfortunately combination of changes to the criteria and the deadline dates of the audits have not helped.
It will get there...one day.
Feels a bit like the regime taking credit for the Community Scheme. In one instance their contribution is negligible, and in the other their contribution is failing.0 -

It makes me wonder, what are they trying to hide?0

She doesn't but Slade does and has spent his budget on those lovely pics which does include a goalkeeper8

Sneaky... now they can say they bought goalkeepers!!!!1

Pictures of goalkeepers.
Our goal keeper progression line has recently been realised as a strength following a few decent games for Pope and a decent offer from a premiership club.
Very happy that the I have watched a future premiership player now. I had thought we were going to reduce our ambitions and now look to produce players we could look forward to seeing play for championship teams (with is feeding from a division below).
Well made up that we can still feed premier league clubs in the goal keeping space.
Well done KM again there, you've hit a target.1 -
Looks like the treatment room0

To be fair, we moaned about getting goalkeepers in, we didn't specify that they had to be 3-dimensional or still playing football.lancashire lad said:She doesn't but Slade does and has spent his budget on those lovely pics which does include a goalkeeper

The longer this takes the longer I believe Roland is in this for.
It was one of the worrying parts of when he bought us, his money goes to things that can a) be sold on for a possible profit aka cheap players and b) hard assets, like the training ground and building work. Everything bar the bloody success of the football club.0 -
Doubt it will ever happen, well at least not under this mob. They are simply unable to organise anything properly.
They consistently look at the cheapest way of doing things, which leads to further problems as they tend to employ useless people.
As time moves on the project will get more and more expensive which will mean Roly will have to dig deeper into his own pocket and we all know how that ends up.0 -
Considering Sasha publicly said he wants them to go (Twitter) I'm surprised he's there.2

Maybe it's just a load of bitter ex-employees?0

A bit like Colin Powell was used to endorse the season ticket offer - without his agreement.Henry Irving said:

Literally cheap option window dressing, presumably to cover the fact the training ground isn't finished by now as first said by the regime.0

its a picture rather than an endorsement ala Paddy but I doubt anyone looked into it that closelyAirman Brown said:

By my calculations the Construction phase should have finished by now.Addickted said:
So what you're saying is that despite the close season from the middle of May onwards, the highly specialist Construction Consultants have programmed the major part of June for the tender stage?Swisdom said:Quiet from our perspective but then again it would be at tender stage.
So July will be the tender analysis and award. Contract signing and sealing followed by mobilisation of the main Contractor and where necessary any sub contractors.
That should see a start on site the first week of the new season - assuming the funding is in place.
Are these sort of organisational skills a Belgian trait?
The second fix must include some very expensive fittings.

The builders might be in at the training ground but The Valley always feels like she's got the painters and decorators in..0

My understanding is this ought to have been finished ages ago according to the timetable set out by the club.
Trenches being dug seems to have taken 18 months out of the project.
The goalposts of what the extent of the originally trumpeted development seem to have been moved.
Katrien said on talksport that all the final planning permission has been granted, but it appears it hasn't.
This non project has become a conduit for the Lookman money and for then finding excuses not to spend it, and is waved around as positive development by the club when essentially nothing seems to be happening.
The above is my view, but i would be genuinely pleased if somebody could come on here and explain to me how all my assumptions are wrong.9
