What am unbelievable story that Chris Mears. 7 years ago given just a 5% chance of survival from a ruptured spleen. Later suffered seizures and a three day coma and was lucky not to have brain damage.

    Now an Olympic champion

    Enjoyed it today so far.

Is it weird to watch the weightlifting and always want all of them to be able to lift the thing?

Good to see the gold, though I did feel sorry for the Mexicans. What a shambles that was.

Especially when they were told at first to take it again and then were not allowed the re-dive.

Some great performances tonight but god this commentator on the gymnastics is terrible. Sounds so unenthusiastic even though I assume he is the expert

Kato doing well in the individual men's gymnastics. One eye on the apparatus and one on an impending attack from Clouseau.
  • Into the rugby 7's last 4 !!!!!

    Brilliant !

Yes, he does have a terribly dull voice. Agony watching Whitlock trying to hang on

I was really impressed with the way the Americans dived after the incredibly long wait!

Yep. Thoroughly enjoyable night watching synchro diving, kayaking, judo and gymnastics.
Not so keen on the shooting. Maybe if we'd sent this bloke:

So so refreshing to see sportsmen and women dedicated to their sports so happy to medal. I've loved seeing the interviews with them, all so proud to represent GB.

Such fine margins in so many Olympic events.
