My Palace supporting mate said although brilliant on his day he has had 4 good games out of the last 20 times he has seen him.

I'm sure your Palarse mate also reckons Benteke will be the best player ever for them, and whichever player next leaves them "wasn't all that anyway". He was their most dangerous player on the attack, they got a lot of money for him and now I can't wait to see Pardew spunk it all away
They replaced Bolasie with Townsend and made 12m, as much as i hate Pardew, that seems like good business he's done.

I think Townsend is decent. But Spurs got rid of him because Poch thought he was bad for team spirit, especially after he got in a fight with a physio. Townsend couldn't convince Poch he wasn't an asshole after that, even with an apology. And his wizardry couldn't save Newcastle. Especially in a Pardew squad, I think there's plenty of potential for things to go awry.

12m in football nowadays is nothing. Compare Bolasie and Townsend. One has the quality to play CL football, the other doesn't even have the quality to play Europa league. Not good business at all by Pardew.

Think we had Jason Puncheon on trial as well.

Was set to sign for us when Parky was in charge. I believe Matt Wright said he had the story ready to go, but the deal fell through at the last minute due to funds.

good business if you are trying to raise funds but Townsend wasnt a replacement for Bolasie.

i would also much rather have Bolasie supplying me if i was Benteke

He was on his way to sign for us when a period of due diligence blocked his move and off to Southampton he went.

To be fair at the time Jason Puncheon wasnt the player he is now... Up until joining Crystal Palace he wasted countless opportunities offered by Southampton / Queens Park Rangers etc. now he's realised the error of his ways and has realised that if you dont knuckle down you can end up at Palace so he's playing properly to try and get out of there!!

A lesson for all young Footballers

And for those of you who dont believe me just look at Wilfried Zaha... Played really well at Palace first time round and got his move to Man Utd, he relaxed a little bit too much and got moved back to Palace and is now doing really well to try and get back out again

I recall Parker said that he was ready to sign him, but we were in takeover talks and he was told to back off because the new owners would fund better players. Of course the takeover, like a number of others fell through and Punchers was gone.
