Before the start of the season , (when he was appointed), I said end of September. I was underwhelmed by his appointment then and he has done little thus far to change that. if we lose the next 2 I think he will be gone.
The next coach will be the correct choice and increase our status, or words to that effect.0 -

When appointed I gave him until the end of October. Nothing has happened yet for me to change my mind.1

On past form, Roland tends to get an itchy trigger finger in October-November, after a poor result at home. I favour the aftermath of home -v- Port Vale on Sat 19 Nov (and before Bristol Rovers on the following Tuesday). We may have to do without one of Daisy's classic votes of confidence immediately before the sacking, though.0

This season does have the hallmarks of all the others; OK, start, then after the transfer window has slammed shut, leaving us with a squad short on depth and lacking in certain positions (midfield this year, centre back last, up front the year before that...), the team start to get shaky. We can realistically and easily go from a team unbeaten in six, to one that hasn't won in six, if we lose or fail to beat Scunthorpe and Oxford this week. If that then gets extended up to the Millwall game, I can see RD getting his mobile out and giving Brussel the heave ho after that game...2

Think back to Peeters before he was sacked. It seemed pretty quickly that our "unbeaten run" turned in to nothing more than a string of draws with no real excitement or ability to win a game. At least thats how I remember it!0 -
Wow, one game, one game and it has started, this is after on the back of a six game undefeated run. Should we have won Saturday ? Yes is the simple answer to that and the reason for not winning? we didn't take our chances, and there is the one and only fault to Saturday, we never took our chances. If we were playing poorly, no pattern to our play, no team spirit, creating no chances, not optimistic for the remainder of the season i would be really worried.
Wimbeldon created two chances and scored on Saturday. There keeper was outstanding and to think he was playing in the Ryman league last season goes to show there is talent out there and this was his first game of the season.
Creating as many chances as we did is a positive, the flair of Holmes and Lookman, a player clubs wanted to pay in excess of £6 million a few weeks ago, the boy from Burnley looked strong in the first half.
Coming out in the second half if we had scored a couple of them early chances it could easily have been a 3-0, 4-0 scoreline. We sat back nerves kicked in, they chucked an old fashioned forward on and had a go.
We are more than capable of going on another run, and maybe a result such as this enables the team and management to sit down have a chat, address things tactically and to those who haven't played in this league, it is going to be tough and brutal.0 -

What if Rudd goes a few more games without making a save? What if we get some injuries to our key (multi-million pound offer) players? The usual life expectancy for these guys once Roland gets impatient is about 14-20 league games from appointment/start of season. That includes (rough number of games) Luzon (13), Fraeye (13), Riga (20) here last season and Luzon, Vukomanovic and Riga at Standard Liege the previous season and Riga the first time round at Charlton (15).0

The problem is that it cost virtually nothing to sack his previous appointments. Slade, unbelievably, is on a 3 year contract. There are normally pay -off clauses (that work both ways) of 6 months or 1 year in managers contracts. Or at least at most normal clubs there is.Red_in_SE8 said:
