    The Bleeding Wolf........Stoke on Trent.

The Strugglers...............Lincoln. Outside the castle walls where prisoners about to be hung would 'struggle' with the gaolers on their way to the gallows.

    The Pyewipe Inn.....Lincoln.

The Travellers Rest in Lincoln (now closed) which had a handwritten note in the window saying "No travellers".

Lots of pubs in the west country called the Turks head or Saracens head. They used to chop off the head of Arab slavers who raided the south coast and Ireland.
