Other than @LouisMend , whose time WILL surely come, what attacking options are there? Botaka or Botaka, Aribo at a push, then we're down to RCC, Lapslie and Muldoon (out on loan)- or have I forgotten Josh Umerah as striker-turned-winger?1
-
More interested in finding out which restaurant Roland will be eating at from 3-5pm tomorrow.4
-
More interested in finding out if Mendez is out shopping for Red Bull in Sainsbury's tomorrow.1
-
Which fan group are meeting with the SMT before the game?0
-
Rudd
Solly
Bauer
Tex
Fox
Botaka
RCC
Ulvestad
Lookman
Ajose
Novak
Phillips, Chicksen, Lennon, Aribo, Umerah, Hanlan, Crofts
4-1 If we go with Slade's XI then 1-10 -
Botaka has to start. Might as well start getting some games out of him before he disappears off to the African Nations cup in January.2

Am I bothered ! I will not be there my boycott continues, but I do care. However, no manager bounce not for us, a 1-1 dull lower mid table draw.0

A brilliant sketch. Another endearing thing about Port Vale is that their ground was a vast bleak stadium designated 'The Wembley of the North' with plans to host internationals just after the War. I was there in 1991. Got off the train at Longport (previous station is Etruria, which sounds like a town in Ancient Greece) and we fifty fans were given a mounted police escort the mile-and-a-half to the ground. Which is in the Potteries town of Burslem, nicely time-warped and redolent of Arnold Bennett and his novel Clayhanger. We drew 1-1, with Steve Gritt scoring.MrLargo said:I quite like Port Vale. I remember Tony Naylor and Martin Foyle giving us a tough time at The Valley a few times in the mid 90’s, John Rudge was their manager forever and they had a dumpy little goalkeeper called Paul Musselwhite who had a fairly poor centre parting/curtains haircut, just like the barnet I was sporting at the time. I have a vague memory, which could be wrong, of the Covered End clapping Vale off the pitch after they beat us 3-1 in 1995(?).
Anyway, part of me hopes we win because I detest seeing Charlton in this pub league and still hope that we can somehow fluke our way out of it, despite the idiots at the top doing everything in their power to ruin us.
The other part of me hopes we get thrashed, because a club with an owner who doesn’t care, a disgrace of a CEO, run appallingly from top to bottom, with a thoroughly contemptuous attitude towards its customers, deserves to get thrashed, week in week out, and the people in charge deserve to receive the scorn and anger that comes with that.
On balance, I hope we get thrashed – I’d rather deal with the misery of sitting through another dismal afternoon’s football than let Katrien feel in any way vindicated for her latest absurd episode.
4-0 to The Valiants.

Right normal service is resumed in our basket case club. 3-0 to Port Vale and Nugent wonders what to say to the press to explain this one.0
-
Less than 6000 home fans in the ground, shambles on the pitch, frightening levels of apathy in the stands.
0-21 -
Meanwhile in the alternative reality world - half season tickets go on sale tomorrow. From the highly informative official website.2
-
I think we will get a result tomorrow. However, I'm not terribly interested in watching it so I will be sat at home watching Sky Sports Soccer Saturday or a stream of a Premier Legaue game on my Kodi machine that I purchased last week.0
-
I wonder how many half season tickets are sold.
Less than 10?0 -

We lose, Nugent gets the heave ho, and C.O'L gets the gig.BansteadAddick said:Right normal service is resumed in our basket case club. 3-0 to Port Vale and Nugent wonders what to say to the press to explain this one.

It's actually in Italy, to the north of Rome (Tuscany/Umbria direction) - home of the Etruscans, who were booted out of Rome by, your friend and mine, Tarquinius Superbus....Viewfinder said:

Can't be manny of them left can there? Apparently there's been quite a few resignations unless they've had a recruitment drive for their own groupNug said:

Still more tea and biscuits for the few hangers on I suppose.2 -
I think we'd be surprised at how many people are willing to prop up these owners for their own ego.RedChaser said:

No intention of going but can see us winning this as we bounce back from a chaotic week. Sad thing is that will allow Squirrel Face to claim she did the right thing etc.1
-
Target 20K has been rebranded Target 10K. The club will not be issuing any further comment on this but it is all part of Meire's long term plan. As she says, "fewer spectators are actually more fans".Nug said:

You boycotting the chips, then?Greenie said:I predict that I will be going
I will be at the Oak about 1-30
I will meet my mates
I will have a couple of beers
We will moan about our basket case of a football club.
We will take our seats in the North Lower about 3 minutes to 3
We will sing protest songs
There will be a match played in front of us, but none of us will give a flying fuck about it.
We will go home.
Yep thats the CAFC match experience right there, in a nutshell.0 -
I don't want to miss a bit of excitement today so I will be at home playing tiddly winks. After 60 years, these two useless people running our Club have succeeded in flattening my interest. When they go, I will be back.0
-
By the way I used to be Granpa, but the change of name seemed appropriate and reflects their destruction of our Club.3
