That being said , he must know that if he bides his time by a month or two - there will be atleast 2 or 3 jobs that are at less 'basket-case' clubs!Ben18 said:

All jokes aside, he is a really nice fella! I was certainly one of those who didn't take to him much before but meeting him certainly changed my opinion.
I actually think he was mistreated at Dons he was never given a huge squad to work with and worked wonders to get them promoted! I would quite like him at Charlton as he thrives within a club that has a good academy!
The bottom line is however, I don't want anyone at the club who could be remotely successful unless this regime packs up and leaves!

I'm still more interested in giving young coaches a go, even if (or possibly especially if) they're foreign. I don't think any manager who comes to Charlton will be judged by other teams after their 20 odd game management career is done with.
Haven't been Karl Robinson's biggest fan, but recently I've seen a couple of interviews with him and quite warmed to him. He's got a bit of fire in his belly, and certainly wouldn't stand on the side of the pitch playing pocket billiards.
As @ValleyGary quite rightly said earlier on in the thread, he's the sort of bloke that you dislike when he is in oposistion but the sort you would like if he was your clubs manager (a bit like Warnock).
As an aside, he is married to a woman that was in Brookside many moons ago and I used to quite fancy her. (Ann-Marie Davies) At least we could have a look at her in the directors box instead of Perks, Daphne or Katie - for that reason alone, he should get the job.0 -

I can't see Karl Robinson coming here, but he would be a very good appointment for where we are at the moment.
One manager I'd like us to look at is Robbie Neilson at Hearts. Very good young manager who is modern & flexible tactically, he gives young players an opportunity and likes to play good football. I think that's the type of manager we need.0 - Sponsored links:

The problem with this constant firing of managers is we just end up hiring whoever's floating around. Curbs was right, we need to find the type of manager we want, trouble is there's no-one involved running the club capable of making that decision. It will be luck if things improve not astute decision making.3

Errr. What sort of job would they be doing that they would chuck in to be manager at the Valley. The BBC reported at the weekend that we are the most toxic place for a manager to come, and the most likely to sack him shortly after arrival. Despite the protestations of the club, Katrien and the SE7 asylum, most of the football world know exactly what the state of play is at the Valley. Managers on a contract anywhere outside the lower reaches of the conference south/north are unlikely to give up a paying job to put up with the rubbish they will be asked to put up with here. Russel only came because Cardiff wouldn't let him be manager any more.
