My immediate thought reading that email (the one to Chrissy Powell not Cabbles, which is totally coherent!) was am I safe driving around a car that contains parts and software made by that man's company. Does he interfere in technical specs based on a similar level of ignorance.4

I wish GTKThe Network hadn't published the emails - now all our L1 and Cup competitiors will know they can test formations by having the (unpicked + youth players) play a game against the 1st XI. How extraordinary of the Belgians to share that gem in the first place.......that's the beauty of being part of a network I guess.
Not only that, the diamond formation when attacking is brilliant beyond comparison but now opposition coaches will be able come up with ways to combat it.........assuming they're able to call upon the level of expertise our network possesses.
The only bright spot to come from these emails is we can see how truly able & trustworthy our "President" and CEO are.

He did it himself - Slater said so. Clearly, he values his own hasty judgement above the advice of a bunch of experts carefully sifting the evidence. I believe that is the way he always does business. It couldn't be cheaper (in itself, without regard to the consequences) and it is suggestive of some kind of god complex.PragueAddick said:

Thought that the most insightful thing, was Piotr Parliyck (Polish Pete) admitting himself that the way his signing was handled was ridiculous and that he 'Was'nt ready for that level".
The e-mails from Roland and the influencing of team selection is astonishing, it shows you the delusion of Roland that he would value the opinion of Thomas Driesden (0 professional games as coach or manager, and probably not left his bedroom/laptop for fifteen years), over that of Chris Powell (670 Pro Games and 3/4 seasons as a manager/coach).
I think we all know the reason behind that, is that Driesden will give him the answers that he wants, whilst Powell wouldnt' kowtow to him.
Ask yourself this, if all of the network signings were any good (Astrid, Reza, Nego, Koc, Polish Pete), then surely they would have gone on to have successful careers? Er not quite, they are all bumbling around the lower leagues of Europe, going nowhere and doing nothing.
Look at the players we have let go, Hamer in the PL, Yann and Morrison for example both playing regularly in the Championship. Even Wiggins has been at a higher level than L1, despite his injuries.

Paint the factories you own pink. Serve Moussaka on Tuesdays but bulk it up with mushrooms as this will save money on the meat content. The price of food is rising, we need to be cost conscious.
What sort of hours are the employees working? Flexible working is quite popular as a tool for being considered an employer of choice, but people can go too far and take liberties. Draw up a plan, send it to me and I will send it back with my thoughts.
Finally the next new semi conductor we produce must be called the Anil Koc. This will give it brand recognition and connect with buyers on an emotional level.

I'm not sure it would really take long, although a week is really quick. It's not the size of the business, it the complexity. Check the books, check the contracts to make sure everything is tight, and then decide if you want it. Because of the nature of the business I doubt there's a lot of "change of control" language in the contracts.PragueAddick said:

Just listened to Part 2 again, I took the day of work today as I was a bit under the weather - and I know I zoned out of it mid way through this morning.
Was very interesting to hear Powell finally explain that famous photo from The Valley press conference, specifically that he'd argued with Roland before the conference - and that he didn't agree with the relationship and how Roland was phrasing it.
I've got more respect for Powell out of this too, it was good to hear him explain further how he never blamed the players and tried to shield them away from the strife. A sentiment that Simon Church backs up when he praises Powells handling of the situation.
A special mention for CharltonLife's very own Leon Cort, who confirmed that the dressing room atmosphere was completely fractured after Roland's arrival.
It's also worth pointing out just how gutted I felt for Piotr, he seems like a really sensible and likable guy... Just completely shafted by being thrown over to us. I wish it had worked out with him.
I forgot about Astrit's previous experience in the UK, that may have explain that whilst his fitness was atrocious, he certainly did have the skill and finesse to do well here.
As for the Thuram saga, this has illustrated a major point - despite Alnwick picking up two clean sheets, Roland still didn't understand the selection. This is a very powerful example of just how Roland is unable to accept being wrong. After all, most level headed people would've dropped the subject.
This echoes the sentiment of the scout mentioning that his professional opinion was overruled regularly by Roland. He also seemed to confirm that Charlton was seen as second to Liege with regards to network priorities and the quality of players. "Charlton as the second team of Standard Liege... It's not possible".
Depressing to hear Peeters refer to Driesen as "the boss", even more frustrating to see that even the network managers could see that Chapple should've been listened too - but the hierarchy didn't care. The whole thing is quite bizarre, he's paying professionals to overrule, and in some cases he's overruling professionals based on a 26 year old with no knowledge who has been proved wrong before.
Have we misunderstood the "Roland doesn't do failure" line? Does Roland genuinely not do failure, merely by the fact he can never recognise it?
Oh, and Jimmy Stone's pronunciation is quality. Specifically regarding Katrien and Truiden, spot on with regards to how my Belgian mate does it after correcting me. But also "Gh-ee Luzon".
Genuinely excited about part 3 now, if only for Riga and Fraeye.24 -

For anyone who's followed Charlton's misfortunes under these jokers, there weren't too many revelations. Nevertheless it's a fantastic compilation of evidence for the prosecution.
The one really shocking revelation is how many weird and wonderful pronunciations. I always thought that the other network clubs were Standard, St Truiden, Karl Zeiss Jena, Ujpest and Alcorcon. But no, it's Stondar, St Troyden, Jenner, Oopest and Alcockon. And apparently our cloob is really called Shalton. Then there are players and coaches. Who new that we signed Loyk Neego, Gee Luzon and Anil Cotch. Best of all though, isn't it amazing that the player name that is written as Peter Parsley is actually pronounced Peeocher Parchoocheckquwuwe. Poor old Peeocher, he really was let down by Duchatelay's madness. It is rather fitting though that Mowgli's real name is Thomas Treason.23 -

This is a great piece of work.
Anyone who wants to say ANYTHING about Chris Powell that isn't 100% positive can absolutely do one (being polite). That includes that twat (polite mask has slipped) from Huddersfield who posts on here. This man is a hero who had to put up with so much shit and largely came through it with his head held high and a dignity that the shysters who have been near the club since can only dream of.
I can't do my own feelings justice. @oohaahmortimer and others know how I feel. No matter how much debt Roland puts into the club, people like Christopher George Robin Powell have done more for this club than he willl ever do. Or any of Roland's other cronies, lackeys or 20-something old dogsbodies will ever do. It's more than money. It's heart, and it's soul.
We cannot believe that these people have changed. There's enough evidence for that, namely CO'L (even though I believe Robinson will be a good manager for us). Until Roland and the others leave, I don't think we will be able to succeed as a club.
They do not understand the club. They do not understand English football. They will never understand us or what Charlton means to us.

Another thing to come out if it is just how different things could have been if Cash had kept putting cash into the transfer kitty after winning League 1. If Powell had been able to bring in his targets I reckon we'd have had a go at the play-offs, if not better.

Part of me thinks the emails sent to powell were partly a way to try and force him out indirectly. Probably one of many examples. I don't think Roland can possibly be that thick and naive....
Roland wanted to send the message to powell but not to the public.....the message being...
That it was going to be a problem for powell to continue working for Charlton.
Soon as Roland had the club. Chris Powell was gone. End of.
If powell had a 100% win record from the moment Roland stepped through the door, and also never got the network players involved in any way, refused, that would have been Roland's worst nightmare as he would not have a good enough public reason to sack powell.
If we won every game, more or less from January to may, made the playoffs, got promoted to the premier league. However unlikely that may sound.
Roland would have done whatever he could to stop that from happening, as that was not his vision, not the point he was trying to make.
Roland the rat is the main reason we got humiliated by sheff united in the FAcup that early afternoon.
Thoroughly believe that.
Can't be proven....so I will just keep the hate I have for that man in my head.

If you can't make your wife aware that what she is doing on Facebook and everything is damaging the club's relationship with its own fans and his reputation, he clearly agrees with what she says and does.
The moment they sell, every single one of them needs to go. Wipe it clean. New owner, new Chairman, new CEO, new COO, new secretary, new secretary wife...
These exclusives have shown just what this regime is even more, they've never cared and there has to be an ulterior motive.

Interview with RD in response to the emails. Can this be translated by anyone?
Google Translate doesn't really help, but the gist I'm getting is that RD claims Powell was never under any obligation, and that the emails were just providing advice. And then he goes on to talk about how Riga managed a higher average points per game that Chris Powell did, justifying the decision to sack Powell.
