Never understood the criticism they always looked like a band that enjoyed entertaining people.

Neither could I Ray. Some said they only ever played 3 or 4 chords, which is probably two more than most bands can manage today.

    RIP.

    RIP.
A lot of affection for the old Quo, no frills banging out their tunes and looking like they were having a good time when they got up and played. I spent an age as a kid trying to play 12 bar even half as good as them.
Sweet Caroline, Mean Girl, The Piledriver album. Happy memories.

Very sad. Caroline is one of my favourite songs. RIP Rick.
  • Great shame he has gone. Loved Quo.
  • Absolutely devastating news, what a crap year 2016 has been. There will be a great band in the after life thats for sure.
    RIP Rick

Saw him with Quo performing at the Welcome Inn just before their first hit with Pictures of Matchstick Men, sad news.

Believe there is a plaque on the wall there to commemorate that event. Up at my grandparents grave at Shooters Hiĺll over Christmas for a tidy up. May leave some flowers there as my brother lives miles away.

    RIP Rick
  • My sister always fancied him, RIP Sir.

  • One of the first bands I saw in the 70s. Then managed to see them once in each of the next three decades. Unique band. Parfitt and Rossi always displayed great humour. Rick Parfitt, like many others this year, will be sadly missed. RIP.
  • Seen them since 1976 and followed since 1974. Great entertainment over the years and brilliant live. Rip.

My boss Steve and I once saw Rick walking into a lamp post in Esher.

Steve shouted 'Francis Rossi you are a legend'.

I said 'Steve. That's Rick Parfett,'

Rick wasn't all all offended. Legend.

    RIP

It's jealousy from some music fans.
They happen to be the most successful band if you measure success by sales and chart success!
A lot of bands have tried to copy but none have managed it!
Most rock n roll bands don't use more than 3 chords anyway!
