So Charlton play in Charlton

but teams like AFC Wimbledon don't play in Wimbledon, Millwall don't play in Millwall, Crystal Palace don't play in Crystal Palace and that's just south London. Which other teams actually play in the place they are named after ?

    Bolton in Horwich
    West Ham in Stratford

Think Port Vale, Arsenal and Raith are three teams not named after a town. Port Vale used to be Burslem Port Vale and Arsenal dropped the Woolwich when they defected to North London.

Their previous name, Bournemouth and Boscombe Athletic F.C. reflected that.

Barnet don't play in Barnet anymore, they used to but now play in Canons Park which is just outside the borough of Barnet

Sorry, you're all wrong. Man United play in Stretford, a town in Greater Manchester. Not in the cities of either Salford or Manchester.

Salford is a City in its own right. Yeah, sure it's a burb of Greater Manchester but then Charlton is part of London.

If its a town within Greater Manchester then it's in Manchester.

The address is Old Trafford, Stretford, Manchester

    Pretty big giveaway there
  • Stevenage | Exeter | Yeovil | Plymouth | Cardiff | Swansea all play in their respective towns / cities

Charlton play in London. Your not a London team if you don't put London in your name/badge, just ask West Ham (London)!

Salford, Bolton and Wigan are all in Greater Manchester but no one from those areas would describe themselves as Mancunians.
