@ForeverAddickted yes, when Phillips came into the side he was just as good if not better than Rudd0

A timely thread, given that we’re virtually condemned to another season in L1, but I think it’s less a case of ‘Who Would You Keep’, and more to do with ‘Who will Be Kept’. In no particular order:
Rudd – maybe deserves a crack at a mid-table Championship side and, as likely as not, wouldn’t want to stay anyway. I doubt if Roland would stump up the cash either.
Magennis – I wonder, with NI doing well in their group, if he might think he stands a better chance in the N Irish team if he plays Championship football next season? Anyway, would he really want the thankless task of leading the line again for another long season in L1 with Karl’s 4-2-3-1? I reckon he himself might look to move on. He’s also one of many players included below:
(Magennis), Phillips, Lennon, Kashi, Ricky Holmes, Tony Watt: All have their contracts up at the end of 17/18. Correct me if I’m wrong, but I’d have thought it standard practice, with a season left, for a club to either renew the contract or sell in order to recoup some of the cost. Luckily, of course, we have the world’s greatest CEO, and contract negotiations are, apparently, Katy’s forte. Maybe we’ll try to hang on to Josh, Ricky & Phillips? How and to whom they off-load Watt will be interesting.
Contracts up at the end of the season are : RJ, Chicksen, Crofts, JJ, Ulvested, Botaka, Byrne, da Silva, Mavididi and Mitov (the latter with a one year option)… Maybe they’ll try and keep Crofts; JJ as an impact sub/coach (but pretty soon we’ll have more coaches than players); take the option on Mitov to cover Phillips and the rest out. Wouldn't put it past Katy to sign RJ until 2025!!!
That leaves a host of players contracted to 2019: Bauer and Tex (2020) – both the result of Katy’s shrewd negotiations of course; Solly (2020), Pearce, Page, JFC, Aribo, KAG; and the deadweights of Novak, Ajose, Sarr (2020) and Vetokele.
I omitted Konsa from the above – he and Aribo could probably use another season at least to mature before they’re sold on, but Roland’s gonna have to balance the books somehow.
All in all, a pretty grim picture emerges of what lies in store in the summer, and basically it looks like another huge re-build of the squad.
Thanks for the info from @Scoham 's thread: http://forum.charltonlife.com/discussion/76615/updated-squad-list-1st-february-2017/p1

It's a very complex question given the number of loans and contractual status. Therefore I am going to answer in very simple terms - would I like to see this player here next year on the evidence of what I've seen? Yes, no or not bothered. What I actually think will happen is a very different matter.
1. Declan Rudd - not bothered
2. Lewis Page - yes (just, but might be a clown)
3. Adam Chicksen - no
4. Johnnie Jackson - yes but in a non playing capacity
5. Patrick Bauer - yes
6. Roger Johnson - no
7. Tony Watt - yes
8. Andrew Crofts - no
9. Josh Magennis - yes (just. Don't think he's as good as folk think)
11. Ricky Holmes - yes but same as Josh above
12. Stephy Mavididi - yes
13. Dillon Phillips - yes
14. Jordan Botaka - yes
15. Ezri Konsa - yes
16. Jason Pearce - not bothered
17. Fredrik Ulvestad - no
18. Karlan Ahearne-Grant - no
19. Jake Forster-Caskey - no
20. Chris Solly - yes
21. Nathan Byrne - not bothered
25. Ahmed Kashi - no
26. Harry Lennon - no
27. Dimitar Mitov - not bothered
30. Lee Novak - no
32. Joe Aribo - yes
35. George Lapslie dunno never seen him
36. Jay Dasilva - no
