Definite WUM. Claimed several parties were bidding, but dropped out. Then when KentLive ran this weeks story about other bidders, he said "told you so...".Henry Irving said:
It's the Pete Gregg guy on the unofficial FB page who talks in riddles, posts year old links and then claims he has other links he is stopped from posting. Trouble is I cant remember which part of FB I saw it on this morning, but it was a CAFC fans site.

if it's true some parties have dropped out... the question is... why?
They would have known a ballpark price, coming in, so I don't see that as a problem.
They knew the finances, as they are publicly available, so no surprises there.
I contend it is because they discovered that at the end of negotiations, RD wants to keep the ground. Or some other terrible last minute negotiation ploy.

Has this rumour finally been put to sleep?0

No, nothing further to report at this stage unfortunately. I went down to Melbourne last week for four days, but the fellow in question who is working on the deal, didn't show at the coffee shop at his normal time of 7am, walking the dog before work. I know he's now back from America, (the owner has seen him) . My mate is in there most mornings, so as soon as he sees him again, he'll let me know what he says and I'll post it on here.carly burn said:

Don't post much so who knows?0

All "made up bollocks" aside, I would love Red Bull to take us over and take us to the heights we can only dream of1

Coventry City takeover bid being considered by Australian consortium
Aussie newspaper the Herald Sun is reporting that the consortium has ordered financial experts Deloitte to conduct a feasibility study into Coventry City and five other English clubs ahead of launching a takeover bid.
Gerard Murphy, a renowned business consultant who specialises in work with professional sports organisations, is the man heading up the bid.
The group is reported to be lining up a war chest in excess of £30million and aims to secure an English club by the start of next season.0 -
Pretty sure there is nothing in this, they've got it from the article I shared the other day. Basically just names Coventry as one of the possible 'underachieving' clubs.SELR_addicks said:http://www.coventrytelegraph.net/news/coventry-news/coventry-city-takeover-bid-being-12965717

As I work in Coventry and with many City supporters the latest from here is there are a few bids in, 2 from local businessmen and a third unknown bidder. I'm not saying the Aussie Consortium is the third bidder but don't rule it out!0

Will we ever get Closer to the Truth on this?0

Anyone who pays £25m which doesn't even include The Valley is as crazy as the current owner.16

is it just me but Kentlive seem to be running a lot of Charlton stuff on line recently and a lot of it seems to be clickbait. Nothing new or substantial in that piece.Scoham said:4 -

If Duchatelet manages to find somebody stupid enough to buy the club and not the ground I doubt they will be smart enough to get out us of League One (at least upwards anyway).Scoham said:
What a future to look forward to. Lower league football played in Roland's shabby little shopping centre in front of 3,000 miserable fans.
Fncked beyond repair.8 -
I've come to the conclusion that any deal that does not include Peter Varney, or at least a Peter Varney introduction, is not going to work.9

And it doesn't seem like that will happen for as long as RM hangs around like a bad smell.golfaddick said:I've come to the conclusion that any deal that does not include Peter Varney, or at least a Peter Varney introduction, is not going to work.

Pure speculation. No source. They probably got their info from this site.J BLOCK said:

Yeah Im thinking that too. They seemed to have interviewed Karl at the weekend, and theyve chopped it up and are dishing out chunks of it everyday to get more clicks.Henry Irving said:

who the fcuk would buy us if it didn't include the ground, non story2
-
It's just the Sevenoaks Chronicle site rebranded. There is an obvious gap in the market for Charlton coverage as with the exception of the SLP there is no local paper following us. Cheap hits.CAFCTrev said:
