Getting the young voters out is going to be key.0
-
She'll have to do some serious Twitter following in the next week then
Hopefully the yoot are energised and the olds don't turn out0 -
In bed in my Italian hotel following some of Corbyns speeches on you tube. If this man is not Prime Ministerial, I don't know who is. Unless that means more of the same rubbish. If you want to judge in those terms, May is many, many leagues below Cameron! What idiot strategist wanted to make the election about her? Strong and stable - my arse!
I want everybody to turn out - Corbyn is better for the old too. He is going to make the country fairer - the handful of famililies who own all the wealth and who control politics to get richer - even though they don't need too. It would be ok, but for the fact, that most of the population gets poorer thanks to the system!7 -
Teresa May isn't to appear on the BBC leadership debate and will be represented by Amber Rudd.
How prime ministerial.

Just watched Diane Abbott on Marr.
I didn't know I could cringe so much, it isn't Dr Who that makes me want to hide behind the sofa.
Now for Amber Rudd who is able to use the May technique of not actually answering. A combination of refusing to talk about ongoing stuff, and kicking the can down the road and evasiveness.
Diane Abbott could learn to be evasive, but she is so bad she makes Amber Rudd look like Abraham Lincoln.
Any progress Labour has made recently has been put back by the Marr show this morning.
3 -
If Corbyn had any realistic aspiration to be PM he'd keep that human car crash in the basement guarding a bumblebee in a jar9
-
Why Diane hasn't been locked in some kind of gaffe-proof bunker located half a kilometre under Labour HQ by now is beyond me.6
-
Diane Abbott went on about working in admin at the Home Office just after she graduated as her having the experience, yet she says what happened 34 years ago with her mindset is not relevant now.
Mrs Plum worked at the Foreign and Commonwealth department for 10 years, including close work with military and security services, and with significant allies from Europe. That doesn't qualify her as Foreign Secretary or Ambassador to America.
To be fair, if salivating power hungry wanackers like May, Hunt, Gove, Rudd, Davis and Johnson can be rightly criticised, then Diane Abbott does not deserve to escape criticism just because she isn't a fecking Tory.
I despair about the political class in this country.5 - Sponsored links:

This was in the Telegraph about a year ago but was pulled (according to Guido Fawkes, the Tory blogger, due to pressure from her team).
I think it shows what most Tories think of her and perhaps shows why she has such a dearth of talent around her e.g. Fallon & Green come across as easily bullied. It is worth the read.

If you wanted to attack Corbyn and avoid the pathetic IRA trash talk the Tories seem to regard as strong stable leadership, the idea that Diane Abbott might end in in government is equally frightening as that idiot Fallon or the naked power hunger of Boris Johnson. And ditching her while an ideal idea, will probably cost votes.0
-
Wait has May-hem seriously backed out of the TV stuff after initially declining, then agreeing? What a u-turning wimp.0
-
Theresa May avoids any kind of unscripted contact with real human beings and tends to surround herself with sycophants who offer no real criticism.6

Just watched the Diane Abbott interview with Andrew Marr. Not the complete car crash I was expecting but nonetheless fairly uninspiring and does nothing to convince me i'd put her in charge of my sock draw let alone The Home Office.
I would imagine Sir Humphrey Appleby would run rings around her as would the tea lady.
It's the fact that she's Corbyns choice for Home Secretary that casts doubt on the mans overall judgement and makes him unelectable. I can only assume that she has something over him which she might reveal should the need arise.
I'm voting labour for Clive Effords sake who I sincerely believe to be a good constituency MP. Should the completely unexpected happen and Labour win on the 8th June I fully expect some of the worst day to day government in history.2 -
As opposed to a Tory win?0

Theresa May is sodding unelectable, if we're chucking that meaningless word about7

Only meaningless if you don't understand what it means. May is uninspiring but still people think she would be a better Prime Minister than Corbyn.Leuth said:Theresa May is sodding unelectable, if we're chucking that meaningless word about

Increasingly people don't think that, as she further reveals herself to be a feckless mealy-mouthed hard-right harridan
Corbyn has, potentially, a Home Secretary who's a bit gaffe-prone, rubs most people up the wrong way, etc etc. May has um her entire f**king cabinet of self-serving f**kheads. Unelectable!13 -
Ah good I missed classic irate sweary Leuth, it's been tiring being a one man lefty army.Leuth said:Increasingly people don't think that, as she further reveals herself to be a feckless mealy-mouthed hard-right harridan

Well the proof of the pudding will be on the 8th but my own view is that Corbyn is a liability to the core labour / swing vote. If the leader was someone else then I think labour might just have a shot at winning because May and her campaign have been so lamentable.Leuth said:Increasingly people don't think that, as she further reveals herself to be a feckless mealy-mouthed hard-right harridan

Sadly I fear your "unelectable" Tories will be elected albeit with a bloody nose.

If Corbyn can convince me that he's electable then who knows who else will be convinced by the 8th.ShootersHillGuru said:

Nobody is unelectable with the right optics1

It would take a double from every bottle on the top shelf to get me to vote for this particular cruel mob of Tories...Leuth said:Nobody is unelectable with the right optics

May - Johnson foreign secretary. I believe that particular decision is on a par SHG. And at least she'll only be embarrassing at home, not all over the flippin' world...ShootersHillGuru said:Just watched the Diane Abbott interview with Andrew Marr. If Labour do manage to pull it off it will make May's decision to call an early election one of the biggest fuckups off all time.
I can't see it happening but you never know4
