Would be well pleased with Griggs but can't see it happening at all1

Charlton have not bid for Wigan striker Will Grigg, News Shopper understands.
He played under Addicks boss Karl Robinson during a loan spell at MK Dons, scoring 22 goals in the 2014/15 campaign, including a brace against Manchester United in the League Cup.
Grigg, 26, has been promoted and relegated with Wigan in two seasons.
The Northern Ireland forward is a proven goalscorer in the third tier, but is currently behind Ivan Toney in the pecking order at the DW Stadium.
Wigan are not prepared to sell Grigg, who has just one year left on his contract, to a League One rival.
And News Shopper has been told that if he was to leave the Latics, it would be for a Championship club.
Grigg scored seven goals in Wigan’s disappointing Championship campaign last term.
His season was ended prematurely with a knee injury, and he is still working his way back to full fitness, appearing off the bench in Wigan’s first three league games.
Charlton want to bring in another striker to push Josh Magennis and Lee Novak.
Robinson has said the club are not willing to spend £1m on a frontman, and that is a fee Wigan would command for Grigg, given his prolific record in recent years.1 -
What about the young Boro striker we were linked to a few weeks ago?0
-
Think any deal for Grigg is more likley to happen in January when his price drops or in the summer when he is a free agent, especially if we are in the championship by then. I can't see anything other than an unproven loan option to bolster the striking options at this late stage sadly.0

Simon Church seen walking down Sparrows.
Not sure what that could mean.2 -

He kicked a stone but managed to absorb it with his incredibly spongy foot and is now rooted to the spot. Conincidentally how he played most of this football at the valley.iamdan said:Simon Church seen walking down Sparrows.

Genuinely think he was one of the biggest lumps of turd I've seen play for us. There have been a few but he was absolutely hapless imo

It might be the fella who he met whilst working in the Petrol Station when the Magician joined back last November.dickplumb said:Correct me if I am wrong but isn't this just somebody who posted something on his Twitter account? Why should it be true?
Or it could be more Billy bull poo.
The interview with Terry Smith on Charlton Live last Sunday tells you all need to know when it comes to the issues getting the funds from our Disco King owner.
Why go out to Belgium and see him? No joy from his assistant, so chance my arm and see the Belgian John Travolta.

Guy who posted the tweet is a friend of my daughter and was sitting next to her last night. She's convinced the conversation happened and he is reporting it accurately.
All I would say is that Robinson is the least discreet Charlton manager I can remember. Not that I'm complaining...21 -
Grigg not selected for NI squad0

A shame for him but could be good news for us if it's true we are in for him. He might need to put in a transfer request to force the issue.ross1 said:Grigg not selected for NI squad

Yes, agree.
He was talking to someone at u21 game last season and having a joke around about someone getting a 4 year contract and how he'd have never have offered that player a deal..
2 -
A Championship club probably offered 1.2 million for Grigg...so KR could report on that...a bit of illusion that it was from Charlton. If/when we sell Konsa then our Belgium maestro would have a bit of money to burn, in theory at any rate.1

More bullshit bingo from Karl: https://www.londonnewsonline.co.uk/29269/charlton-boss-confirms-transfer-bid-striker-coy-link-wigan-athletics-euro-2016-star/
“I’m having my most unique transfer window ever – I’ve got told there is money to do something but the players who we want to make us better are at clubs who don’t want to make them available.
“It is the case with two strikers. Not just one. Normally I finish transfer windows and I’m frustrated at my club. This time it is frustrating in a different way.
For Will Grigg, read Jonson Clarke-Harris(£1.5m), Chris O'Grady (£600k), Max Gradel (£1.5m).
Weird that we seem to encounter all these problems signing players since Roland turned up. Kermorgant, Wright-Phillips, Darren Bent, Clive Mendonca, Andy Hunt, etc, etc - just went out and signed them, didn't pay over the odds. Wonder why it's so difficult these days.20 -
Utterly predictable on the strikers. Duchatelet will never fund a complete balance squad with sufficient depth.5

Can't wait for the faux anger on deadline day again.9

“We’ve made a bid but I’m not saying for what player,” said Robinson.
Except when talking to a young fan outside the ground.20 -

On a serious note... this line he actually gives does sound like he's warming up for that frustrated interview at the end of the window. The Red Robin said:Can't wait for the faux anger on deadline day again.

Or maybe the players he wants are being overpriced because people know we actually do have a bit of money.
Who knows - and I know this is radical, but maybe he's telling the truth.
Sorry if it doesn't fit the narrative but that's life sometimes.18
