Ashes need protected status and should be back on terrestrial TV. End of.

Not for me, Sky/BT do a much better job with the presenting and overall package, if you don't have Sky/BT just stream them online

Even though I was a big Knott fan, Gilchrest would shade it for me. Not as good a keeper, but what a batsman. Watched him dismantle a good South African attack at Newlands a week after hitting a run a ball 200 a week earlier. Also unusually for a modern cricketer, an Australian at that,he would walk when he nicked it.

But surely if you are picking the best ever you pick the best keeper available. You've got the best batsmen you don't need another one at No.7

If it was down just to pure keeper I’d go Bob Taylor or Jack Russel as the two best I’ve seen, even ahead of Knotty. I still consider Knotty the 3rd best I’ve seen and would choose him ahead of those two for his batting, as England did with Taylor. So I’m sticking with Gilly on the same principle.

No one has ever kept wicket better than Knotty......to say different is a hanging offence!
  • Any Lifers in Brisbane for the Test? Sort of “can’t wait” but “worried we’ll fall apart”. As others have said, it might hinge on one or two from either side stepping up.

I have a spare for day 2 if anyone needs one!
Thanks for the offer but I have tickets

Imagine how much a terrestrial channel would show? Not a lot!

I’m just hoping it lasts my lifetime. It’ll be a T20 Ashes before you know it. The first competitive T10 is being launched this winter. T5 will be on the horizon.

If he's released in time then Ben Stokes might have it.

Not sure I agree with that, BT are awful IMO. Having said that, that's not an opinion based on any cricket coverage.

Got a feeling you might be able to get rid of it out there...

BT will only be showing C9 coverage with their own audio feed, they haven't got their own production company. C9 are very good, they invented modern cricket TV from back in the WSC days of the late 70's.

@SoundAsa£ if my dad was still around he’d probably say the same about Godfrey Evans, so I’d really be in trouble

A fair few guesses 87, one or two of the new ones tripped me. I wonder if the Aussies do a similar thing with our squad?

63% but all but three were lucky guesses!

Not good, and rubbish preparation, seeing that England ending up bowling 70 overs in their second innings of spin, and only 40 of seam
