probably find out it was an Aussie scam to get Stokes banned for the Ashes. Set some kid up to abuse him & wait for the reaction.

I blame David Warner, I knows he got buggar all to do with it, but he’s an obnoxious little turd, so it all on him

Will the BBC Sport website have highlights on their match thread?

They usually have highlights of wickets, boundaries and drops just minutes after they happen.

Garton called up. Really now? We're getting to the point where I can start militating on Josh Tongue's behalf :)

Only to make up numbers for warm up - from the Lions squad

The left-arm bowler will remain as cover with the squad for the remaining warm-up match in Townsville before the first Test, which gets under way in Brisbane on 23 November, before rejoining the Lions party for their camp in Brisbane and Perth.

Is Jamie Overton currently injured? He's the quickest in the country atm I think - albeit expensive

    Cough Stuart Meaker cough.

    Quicker than Tymal Mills?
Has bowled the 4 quickest balls at the England performance centre in Loughborough.

Elyse Perry is something else. 213 not out to turn the game on its head

And she represented Aussie at football too. A modern day Denise Compton
  • CA 75 all out. Anderson, Overton and Woakes' combined bowling figures in the innings:

    31.2-15-44-10

And that's without Broad in the team. A first shot across the Aussie's bow from us!

but against a team with no-one who is likely to play in the Aussies Test team.

Indeed but had we lost the game some on here would have said we might as well go home now. In fact, some do believe that, without Stokes, we should have done so already!

The aussies play against weakened county teams when they tour here.

One of the reasons why home sides are so dominant these days, Jimmy's bowling stats home and away are massively different

not having BT (only Sky) you wouldn't know they were happening in a couple of weeks.....Sky would have their AshesHD channel up and running and the countdown clock on SSN.

    shame really.

anyone know if any of the terrestrial channels have an evening highlights package? (channel 4 or 5??)

You can get BT via Sky. Ok you have to pay but it's not a huge amount. By the way BT's build up is pretty lacklustre. I keep looking for preview programs but nothing doing.
There is a 20min preview program on BTSport3 at 0300 this morning.

Will lose five nil without Stokes.

Disagree - don't think Australia are strong enough to win 5-0. In fact I have had a bet on 2-2.
Australia's bowling attack is far better than our's and I can't see who is going to make enough runs for us to win tests

The proof is in the pudding. I'm hoping for humble pie but I have the same feeling it will be like last time over there. Only trust Cook, Root and Bairstow batting wise. bowling is so so, although Woakes may surprise. Jimmy doesn't swing it out there so they'll concentrate on seeing him off. Broad over the hill imo. Hope I'm wrong.

I agree about Broad. Surprised none of the papers / experts have said similar

Cant believe anyone would think that Broad is 'over the hill' - he is 31 - 4 years younger than Jimmy, yet still collecting wickets. He had an incredibly unlucky summer with the number of catches dropped off his bowling - it was a phenomenal number. Gone are the days of him trying to be 'The Enforcer' when always bowling short. He is at his peak now, and will likely be our best bowler ,stats wise, in this series.

  • Starts next week - Wednesday night at 11.
forgot the 2nd test is a day night so starts at 2.30am - be a good one to get up early say 5 and watch the last 2 sessions.and the 3td is at Perth so the same aoplies because of the time difference.
as im.overseas i am thinking of just using BT Sport via laptop and running an HDMI cable to tv. Would having.a Kodi stick be beneficial to me at all with this?

Every time someone says Broad is past it or he doesn't take wickets anymore, he goes and has a blinding series so I hope that's the case there. ;-)

Looking like the team will be:

Cook, Stoneman, Vince, Root, Malan, Bairstow, Ali, Woakes, Broad, Ball/Overton, Anderson.

No idea what the Aussie batting line up is going to look like. Warner, Smith... does Maxwell get test matches now? Who else?

I would suggest the Australian top order will look something like this:
    Warner
    Renshaw
    Khawaja
    Smith
    Hanscomb
6 will either be Maxwell or Hilton Cartwright
I have heard Nevill will get the nod over Wade for the wicket-keeping job.

A team with too many unconvincing batsmen, a quartet of underpaced bowlers and a keeper and spinner who aren't that great at their primary roles. We're going to get f*****.

The Australian team aren't great either. Smith and Warner are the danger men with the bat, bit really it's Starc, Cummins and Hazelwood who are going to tip it to the Aussies. Lyon is effective without being impressive.
