England name an unchanged team for the 3rd Test although Bairstow and Ali have quite rightly swapped batting positions.
  • I thought we might make a change, but pleased Bairstow has moved up the order
  • If Ali doesn't perform and we go 3 down , then its outage for him i'm afraid.

He deserves more loyalty than this after his form over the last year

Maybe his loyalty deserves a rest. You cant keep underperforming. Time for others to see if they can perfrom.

    a) He's performed brilliantly before this series!

    b) Loads of them are underperforming. Why single out someone who's stuck around in three innings out of four?

  • As a No 6 ( 7 now) his average is 26, and he has taken 2 wickets at 98 runs each - I don't call that performing .
He's in the team as our all-rounder, but primarily as spinner - if he isn't 1) taking wickets and 2) not spinning the ball, then it makes him extremely vulnerable.
If its dormy 2 , then out he goes i'm afraid, with the likes of Vince,Cook and Malan also on the precipice- however who they are replaced with is a different story, although i'm sure that Cook will get his usual get me out of jail 100 (maybe 50 in this instance) which will elongate his Test career by another home Test series where he will likely score loads against some non descript team , again.

'Performed Brilliantly' is over the top. His spinning has been at best average with the occasional purple patch (Old Trafford against the saffers) being the obvious exception. Can't argue with your second point though.

Ali was unlucky in Brisbane and batted well looking more comfortable than most. His first innings dismissal was an umpire’s call LBW that just clipped the bails according to the technology. In the second innings, he was given out stumped when he plainly wasn’t out.

Other two dismissals were a wonder catch and another umpire's call lbw. Really he hasn't been dismissed properly yet ;)

Very ordinary. Certainly when viewed against Lyon.
  • i would suggest that 2-198 is a little bit less than 'very ordinary'

    I would agree

What's all this Home 2019/20 lark? Our home series are in one year. Away are split over two.

Investigation by the ICC into claims this Test was going to be fixed! Seriously.

Hopefully the likes of Sugar, Cowell and McCartney will get us a win!

Unfortunately this won't make the Aussies any less determined to beat us.

I reckon this could be a bit of spin from the ECB, they will finally admit that after an internal investigation it has emerged that we threw the first two Tests as a number of players had been bribed to underperform. You have to admit that there could be a few suspects!

I hope the England players were well paid for their abject performances in the first two Tests

    ERRRRRRMMMMMMM!!!!! NO!
    We play at HOME 2019
    We play AWAY 2019/20

The legend is incorrectly laid out. It's our game, we invented it.

Already got 2 tickets for 1st Day at Lords for both Tests 2018

I really couldn't give a toss, not followed this series particularly, was just sitting on the sofa in a warm comfortable sitting room with my wife and eldest son. She made the son turn off the football to watch Apprentice, he said Dad wants to watch footy too, I said no let Mum have what she wants. Within 10mins both parents asleep and football back on!
I haven't seen the last 4 or 5 episodes but was amazed Joanna was still in but glad "Miranda" (Elizabeth) was.
