Joe Root wins his third toss in a row and elects to bat first. No brainer. The pitch according to all the experts should be very, very good. It must be remembered that we DO NOT have to win here. A draw keeps the series alive and so if we can score big, 600+ then we can go to the G still holding the Ashes.
I will spend this entire Test in Viewfinder mode, apparently
Stoneman puts Hazelwood for four through the bloody covers. Isn't it about time someone did that to one of these bowlers? Glenn McGrath turns 48 next year.
Hmm interesting session. Cook looks out of form and gone early...
Vince and Stoneman look promising and start to build a partnership and then one of them plays a nothing shot and gets out less than a dozen balls before lunch. Typical England.
I had tickets for this, 5 days of sunshine, beers, walks to the beach from my house after the days play, but instead I’m lying in bed at 5am waiting for the central heating to kick in so I can get up and make a cuppa! I hope my family appreciates the sacrifice I’ve made!
Need a hundred from at least one of the two batsmen currently in and a good 100 to 150 partnership from them. Part way through our 5th innings and no big scores or big partnerships yet. Need to get ahead of the game for once instead of constantly looking like we might and then chucking a wicket or two away.

Get a Wisden out of the library and try and find Botham's Ashes feats in the series 1980/81 or 1981/82.

C'mon England!
