Tony Watt - Waste of a Talent

Jacko recommended a coaching webaite to wich TW replied
"Thought u got ur coaching drills from shitdrills.com"9 -
I can't show them but Paddy Bauer has sent several sharp tweets to TW lately - fully deserved. It's surprising that Tone's manager Nigel Pearson lets him get away such a poor attitude.

Its all banter, you can tell he is still having a laugh with a number of players

I thought it was going to be one of Jacko's deadline day pranks, along the lines of " just seen TW at sparrow's lane......."oohaahmortimer said:

I thought for an awful minute when I saw that this thread had been resurrected that we had re-signed him. Then I realised that we couldn't afford to pay the £100m that he thinks he's worth.0

12 minutes of play with a 15 minute sit down in between. Bet he still looked knackered when he came off.Callumcafc said:16 -

It's rare that I really laugh at footballer banter, but this is two in one night. BFG showing why Germany is a country known for its humor.
Also, it looks like Tex is having a banging season at STTV. I'll always have a lot of time for him. He always came across as a really nice guy and is a very good footballer on his day. If things had been different I think he could have been a real cult hero for us.12 -
I haven't got fond memories of him. He was one of many we have had over the last couple of seasons who looks the part but is an utter pussy. He got completely dominated by most centre forwards I saw him against, not quite as often as Sarr but more frequently than Bauer.SDAddick said:

I'm sure they are all good company and nice blokes but I will not look back and wish many of the drossy cowards we have had foisted on us during this nightmare tenure were still here.

The BFG really needs to update his Twitter header picture, even if it that photo from the 2015/16 kit launch was in a beautiful location!SDAddick said:

Leaving Leuven apparently3

Tex went down in my estimation when he allowed himself to be suckered and sent off by Morison of Millwall. One can forgive a hotheaded youngster in such a situation but a 30 plus player who has been round the block like Tex should have known better.4

As for Watt:
So what?0 -
One chapter closed. Another one opens. Thank you @ohl_official for the time I spent! Unfortunately I never played much football when the new manager came in but we left it on good terms. That’s football. I’ll have time to see my next step now!
Has this happened before to Watt?0 -
if he is now a free agent, who would have him back till the end of the season?24

Only if we have a situation where we need to bring him on in the 94th minute to hold the ball up at the corner flag. And even then I'm not sure that the corner flag wouldn't win the ball.cafcdave123 said:if he is now a free agent, who would have him back till the end of the season?

I think he’ll be out of football at any decent level within a couple of years.5
-
Yep, if he's willing to run his nuts off and play as a team player.... oh No then.0
-
Loads of players in non league just like him. Hugely talented but lazy, awful mindblowingly rubbish attitude3

Think that's happening right now...ShootersHillGuru said:I think he’ll be out of football at any decent level within a couple of years.
If he cant cut it in the Belgian 2nd tier (where Fraeye didn't do badly with Lommel)... What does that tell you2 -
Tony Watt born with magic feet from Harrods, unfortunately his brain came from the pound shop. Rarely were they in sync. Maybe on 2 occasions against Forrest and the £5 game against Huddersfield if my memory serves me right. A Celtic legend predicted TW would be driving a bus by the time he was 28 ! That could still come to fruition.8

I have a completely different experience. Met him in a bar in Glasgow just before Xmas. Although he didn't seem drunk, he was having drinks. Came across very well, had a really good conversation and he was happy to keep talking but I had to leave. Said some really good things about the club and his time here. Might have helped that it was probably a very unusual experience for him to bump into a Charlton supporter in Glasgow but he left a much better impression with me than I had heard from others.East_Stand_Loopy said:

Oh yeah. There’s little doubt that he would be a great bloke to be around. I got the impression that all the players loved him - until associating with him affected their careers.iamdan said:I’d imagine a night out with Tony would be decent. Birds, booze, bugle

He is the kind of bloke that you would love to have on speed dial but wouldn’t want your children or employees to know as his attitude could rub off on them.
I can confirm that TW is not a happy drunk, but a very, very, miserable one.
I would imagine it would be the worst night out imaginable...17 -
This was me on my soapbox outside Tony's pad in Glasgow a couple of years ago. You can just see his name behind my left arm. I have changed my Taylor since this picture was taken.0
