Whatever you think of him, that is ridiculous.
Mutual parting of the ways maybe. But to sack him after Everton were in a bit of trouble before he came in is muggy.
Still, these owners all know exactly what they're doing.1 -
Confuses me why they didnt just sign him on a deal till the Summer with a smaller payout at the end if Relegation was avoided
Both parties always knew this might happen0 -
every season i think i fall more out of love with the prem, it is ridiculous up there i fully expect city and the money spunking arabs to win the league for the next 5 consecutive seasons, winning by 19 points is ridiculous, the way managers get sacked is also ridiculous everton could do with a relegation coupled with west ham give there fans really something to cry about.18

Yes he knows his role but I don't get why people are telling him to retire now.
He comes in to a struggling club and gets them to 8th. Whether you like him/his style or not, he normally does the job and IMO is very underrated.2 -
Ironic that if he wasn't too fond of an extra payday, today should have been the day he announced his England squad for a World Cup.

He never played football the Everton way though......"rolling eyes emoji"2

He got well paid for keeping Everton up, but surely they were never seriously likely to go down?
Some bad transfer dealings last summer (and an obvious lack of a Lukaku replacement) but that squad has plenty of quality in it, certainly enough to be mid table0 -
Are you joking?mid_life_crisis said:Another £6M in the bank.

There’s plenty of milk left in this money cow!
As already said they’ll be plenty banging on the door two months into the new season.
Big Sam’s Red Adair gig is one of the best in football.
Work 6 months a year with long summers off for a shit load of cash.4 -
Everton are just a grey football club.......1

Sam Allardyce is nearly an anagram of Australian takeover.

Coincidence, just saying?1

Appalling club. To sack a man for doing his job well.
Hope they really flounder next year.1 -
Big Sam refused to take the job without an 18 month contract. The bloke knows his worth.ForeverAddickted said:Confuses me why they didnt just sign him on a deal till the Summer with a smaller payout at the end if Relegation was avoided

Feck knows what the expectations of the Evertonians are, but given where they were when Big Sam took over and where they finished then they should have offered him at least another two year deal. Some clubs need to have a reality check and ask themselves what there expectations are each season.0

Think he has had ridiculously bad press this season for doing an excellent job. When he took over they were awful and heading one way. Not only did he turn that around he also took them to the very top of the mini league he realistically ever had a chance of getting them to.
After turning Palace around in massively difficult position last season (I reckon pretty much anyone else would have taken them down).
His football may not be the best but he is amazingly effective.8 -
agreed, the only team he could realistically have finished above and didn't was BurnleyAthletico Charlton said:Think he has had ridiculously bad press this season for doing an excellent job. This. The Everton way was lumping the ball forward onto Duncan Ferguson's bonce wasn't it?C_Jensens_Love_Child said:He never played football the Everton way though......"rolling eyes emoji"

Don't you remember the flowing football they played under Moyes?C_Jensens_Love_Child said:He never played football the Everton way though......"rolling eyes emoji"

Exactly, Ferguson and then Fellaini. But of course they were basically Barcelona before Allardyce took them up 10 places.JohnBoyUK said:

Hope Moyes goes back and they do shite0 -
Alladyce is a superb manager no question, Everton (as well as West Ham and Newcastle) for some reason think they’re deserving of finishing above “the best of the rest” league. It astonishes em how he still gets stick.3
-
Everton have huge backers and not sure that the appeal of playing under Sam Allardyce is the draw that they want for their club.2
-
My Bolton mate is always very complimentary about Big Sam.0

Big Sam can just go and relax now for the next 6 months and then wait for the job offers to come in when the merry go round starts again and 3 or 4 clubs get desperate and sack their managers.2
