    Be interesting to see the whole replay from before the ball was delivered, what chance Ramos was pushing and pulling the defender either first or at the same time? Then stops just before the ball arrives and goes down.

    The main thing is to eradicate the wrestling in the area. The 2 second shirt pull may take longer to be penalised. We needed the pens shoot out for a bit of excitement.

    Russia managed another 36KM covered in 32 minutes of extra time. In terms of pure distance covered per minute that is a minimal if any "performance" drop compared to the 110KM in 98 minutes of football played previously.

    Total distance covered for Russia 146KM will have to do a bit of research to see if a team has ever managed more than that in a game including extra time.

    Also worth noting NO players down with cramp or injury in that time either.

    Not quite true, I saw a player go down with cramp in the 80-something minute, also cramp usually happens most in the heat, do to salt lose. It's pouring with rain, they won't be sweating quite as much.

    De Gea will be disappointed he hasn’t saved any of the four penalties, the Russian penalties weren’t any better than the Spanish ones
