Yeah, @ForeverAddickted probably can't justify the Nacho goal at all now - as this was the same but much more stylish. Unless he wants to justify it of course ;)

I justified it a few pages ago and will stick to my opinion from the off

I liked both goals - I think Nacho's curved a bit more so if I had a gun to my head or had to pick I would probably pick that one! It is marginal though!

No way, the spin on Pavard's makes it ten times more beautiful.

That's the kind of hit you dream about.

Here is Nacho's goal... is how he keeps it down as well, ball is a bloody missile the way its gone in

Watching both a few times though its scary how both Nacho and Pavard are almost in the same spot

Looking at the two Pavard’s goal seems like the better finish. However I’m not sure he meant to put all that spin on the ball and he could’ve potentially got lucky that he hit a sweet spot off the side of the boot

Nacho however makes the perfect connection with the ball. If Pavard’s intention was to hit it like that then his goal is much more skilful. But I’m not sure.

On the replay, Nacho's looks like a shinner...although maybe that's an illusion

    both great goals.

the spain one looks like a cleaner strike, hence I'd pick that one....tough call though and I'd be happy scoring either in my lifetime !!

I'd be happy to get a deflection off my arse if it meant I'd scored at the World Cup ;)

Nachos goal is better as the build up to it is better. Silva takes out two defenders in one move before he puts the cross in.

Interesting... Croatia prior to last night hadnt won a knockout game in the World Cup or Euros since 1998

Nah thanks - never see a better connection than Fish's strike at Sunderland ever again

In which they exited at the semi-finals against somebody with a Eurostar station...

  • I know you probably shouldn't change a winning side but i'm surprised Brazil continue to stick with Gabriel Jesus. He starts again today but in my opinion, Firmino deserves a chance.

Cue at least 2 goals from Jesus now.

I really like Firmino, think he's very underrated - has both the quality himself and the workrate to make space for others.

They won't be prepared for the second coming. *Edit*(Megan from Love Island would be well prepared for it though, and the 3rd and 4th).

I imagine the other attacking players love playing with him, he's the sort of attacker who with his workrate and movement will create space for Neymar, whereas Jesus to me (at this stage) is more of a goalhanging striker.

Aluko just finished her usual bland, learned by rote, comments, with the gem that losing 7-1 to Germany in the last World Cup was the best thing that could have happened to them!
