Just glad we won and scored twice. We must have more late finishes than any other team.
Hopefully we can kick on from here - squad is looking okay.9 -
Well at least we've got 2 loan signings to cover a 3 match ban for Fosu - but I've a feeling that was not the master plan!0

Its a shame as he looked bloody dangerous (no puns intended) when he came on... Was a real threat when on the ballN01R4M said:Well at least we've got 2 loan signings to cover a 3 match ban for Fosu - but I've a feeling that was not the master plan!

Glad we came back there as a draw would have started to look like relegation form. We've still not properly beaten a team though. Both our wins have been squeaked 2-1 wins with late winners, and we can't keep surviving by the seat our our collective red pants. Still, that end to the game was hilarious and I can only hope we were trying 35 yarders just to see if the left back in goal knew what he was doing. Good to see Igor back but I would have liked him on a bit earlier.1

So, what the hell happened in injury time?2
-
Small consolation is that one of Fosu's 3 matches is in the Mickey Mouse cup.9
-
Its frustrating because apart from the goal we conceded (and like last week) we dont look like conceding... Our defence is rock solid and just need a bit more going forward
Game changed in our favour when Fosu came on and he gave Cullen an option to pass to and attack the opposition which made the Southend players scared
Lapslie also had a good cameo but I'll never get bored saying it... the referee was weak, he was too quick to book our players and not quick enough to book theirs; Demetriou shouldnt have been on the pitch by the time the wrestling started (let alone the FT whistle) and none of that would have happened had he been stronger - In fact it was only his decisions at the end that I felt he got right all game5 -

We weren't and I was going absolutely apoplectic. Especially when we had a free kick ~25 yards from goal.Garrymanilow said:Glad we came back there as a draw would have started to look like relegation form. Other than that the end of the game was absolutely bloody brilliant.

Yeah likewise... 3-1 could easily have become 2-2 yet they could have at least had a shot at goal from the FK that they won!!SDAddick said:

Absolutely delighted to get one over our old nasty manager.20

A good win, that. Bowyer has instilled some fight in the team - literally.8

Would have loved seeing Chris Powell during the whole fight...Macronate said:Absolutely delighted to get one over our old nasty manager.
Was probably offering Bowyer his last packet of herbal tea whilst reminising with Jackson over our title winning season, the nice bastard15 -
I was too caught up in the fight to follow the match thread but it's great fun going back through it now.ForeverAddickted said:

On your comment about Demitrou, there's a part of me that is begrudgingly admirant of him. I mean he committed a good 7-8 bookable offenses and still stayed on the pitch. That does require some, er, skill? it requires something.1 -
Whilst reminding everyone around him to make sure they get themselves checked for prostate cancer. Cancer has no team colours, it affects us all.ForeverAddickted said:

Its a shame as his first foul was (I felt) handled well by the referee by just talking to him, yet then booked Pearce and Pratley, the latter probably no worse than Demetriou's first challengeSDAddick said:

Relieved we won and good to see an improvement after the first half.
Fosu showed what we were missing in midfield - pace and someone that can take players on. Frustrating to see him sent off knowing he’ll miss more games. Need Ward to add something similar, the midfield 3 or 4 are far too similar otherwise.
Good work by Grant for the goal, showed his pace to put Turner under pressure and then strength to win the ball. Made the right decision to give Taylor a tap in as well.
I assume Bauer came off due to injury, hopefully nothing too serious.
Cullen looked promising but like I said we need Fosu and/or Ward in there. Can’t see us scoring many without that type of threat. Too predictable and at times slow otherwise.
Will be interesting to see how we line up on Tuesday. I’d rather play another young team and pay the fine than risk injuries in a pointless game.7 -
Much as SCP is my man crush, I'm always happy when we beat his teams just as I am when we beat any others.
It certainly fees good to come away from Sarfend with three points, we haven't done that too much of late.6 -

I doff my hat to Steve Gallen or whoever scouted bringing in Krystian Bielek. The guy is not a league 1 player20

Great 3 points , been out all afternoon asked the Mrs in jest how we got on and she says 'They're 2-1 up and its all kicked off three sendings off so 10 Charlton V 9 Sarfend'. I said don't muck about, checks SSN and gave her a big kiss!

I thought he was one of our worst players today and managed to redeem himself with the goalcafcsinger said:I doff my hat to Steve Gallen or whoever scouted bringing in Krystian Bielek. The guy is not a league 1 player
His efforts against Peterborough and Fleetwood certainly confirm your comments though and imagine this was just an off day for him1 -
