Had contact with my kids this morning and saw this on worldsnooker was gonna post it and saw you already had done.

It sounds like Jamie has offered money to David John(obviously not Dott ad he is playing right now) to lose frames.

David John is currently in a suspension for matcgh fixing and this relates to that

  • Seems bloody stupid to get someone else to throw a match.
  • Seems bloody stupid to get someone else to throw a match.

Having done a bit more research.

Someone close to Jamie(a family member has said the following)

Jamie hasnt slept for a week worrying about this.
He never once bet on a match and all he done was heard about what David John had done and failed to report it.

Personally based on the World Snooker announcement it doesnt sound like he just failed to report it but I guess we will find out soon enough
  • Ok that's not too bad then.

As I said @MrOneLung just Ronnie being his usual charming self here is World Snookers reply.

In response to comments from Ronnie O’Sullivan at the BetVictor English Open on Monday, World Snooker said: “We are surprised to hear these comments from Ronnie given that he has made no formal complaint and the feedback from the other players has been overwhelmingly positive. And the partners we are working with on the event agree with our view that K2 Crawley is an excellent venue with very good facilities. There was a fantastic crowd in the arena today and the ticket sales for the event have already surpassed the total sales for 2016 and 2017. We look forward to seeing Ronnie play in the next round.”

So he can moan to press about it but cant put in official complaint
  • You would say that @paulie8290

All about opinions, people complain about conditions all the time. I thought the tables weren't playing very well from the game i saw (Williams v Dale).

If you actually read it , he is moaning about the atmosphere, smelling of piss and wires around the tables. All valid points imo , hardly an excuse when he has won his match in 50 minutes.

In pool if i have played my shot and its left there, most cases it will just be respotted.

If someone is leaning on the table or playing a shot and it drops, that might happen too. There used to be a rule where it could be a foul if you were playing the next shot and it falls whilst you are at the table

You're correct, I'd forgotten about that rule -probably the stupidest rule ever in any cue sport. Now the ball is replaced.
I think in this instance the ball had clearly stopped and some vibration caused it to drop.
  • Ronnie O'sullivan in more controversy.
    https://www.youtube.com/watch?v=XKIrAleWhuU
  • I played a lot of snooker in my youth and I am surprised he didn't feel it or hear it. But he seemed shocked when he was shown the footage.
  • For those interested, the world seniors championship starts today. 1st session at 10 am. The event is live on freesports sky channel 422 freeview channel 95

It is a funny one, you would think people should feel it. Sometimes it looks like it and you dont know, this is where you should just trust people are honest. Some people will get away with it, but its not in the spirit of the game.

On the specific case, i would not think Ronnie would not call it but again i think he can walk on water.... After that he wasn't really in the right frame for the rest of the tournament as he is effectively being called a cheat. Shame, if he admitted or it was obvious he cheated then i would feel different but its a hard one to call even watching these shots isn't always proof.
