He didn't exactly look like he was going to do much there anyway, 1 win in 7 games.0

Tosser, jumped before he was sacked, one win in seven, he could see where it was going.1

It suddenly became clear I couldn’t do the job I was employed to do so I left very quickly and hope no one notices if I try to get back into management.1

Reading more into it, it seems the owner had far more of an input on team matters than Scholes was willing to allow. As manager (and having worked under Fergie his whole career) he expected full control over team matters but apparently the owner even gave new contracts to some players without Scholes knowing.

Marcelo Bielsa, Lazio - July 6th to July 8th 2016
Two days.
He walked, didn’t get the sack, but he walked and was in a legal battle with Lazio as they tried to sue him for €50mil for a breach of contract. But he resigned as it was made immediately clear he would not have been allowed to do what he wanted with team and training ground matters after it had been promised prior to his appointment.0 -
Wasn't Leroy Rosenior sacked within 10 minutes once?

Could argue that Southend are in their natural position though; been a long time since they were in the Championship (one season in twenty years) and have only been back from a five year stay in League Two for a few seasons

If Douche sold, there would be a chance Powell would be back here next year. I can see a Championship club coming for Bowyer at season’s end, if we don’t go up.0

Hopefully, Powelly can keep them up and keep his job at the same time.1 -
How tight is the bottom half of League One , Southend win yesterday and they would be top half , instead a loss and they are only out of relegation spots on goal dif .
SCP good luck whatever happens ❤️3 -

Significant injury problems by the sound of it. Hope he gets them out of trouble, ideally at the expense of the tubby, scouse talking machine. Incidentally, doesn't Southend's chairman sound like everything ours isn't in that interview.
Will always wonder what might have been. I'm convinced that his League 1 title-winning squad could have achieved back-to-back promotions with moderate (rather than minimal) investment that summer.4 -
