    Jacob's is certainly capable of doing it, Alvarez seems to be very well connected politically so he will need to stop someone who has not been stopped and not really shown signs of vulnerability

    Canelo by three for me, Jacobs got going too late and lost those last two rounds. Gutted for Danny

    Rare to say but on this occasion the judges got it about right. I had it 115-113 to Canelo.

    The slow start in the early rounds gave Danny too much to do but he came back well and overall it was a very good fight.

    No miracle tonight but you’re still the main man Danny boy - and how classy he was after the fight.

    Even when the ref came over between rounds to tell him to watch the punches to the back of the head he apologised and called him Sir. 

    On another note I wish sky would fuck Froch off, he’s like the new Jim Watt. The likes of Malignaggi and Dave Caldwell put him to shame.

    So many contenders lose the first 4/5 rounds and play catch up. Didn’t think the extra pounds gave Jacobs any advantage, lots of money down the drain...

    Froch really is a one, thought it was an act but he actually has turned into a right self obsessed cock.

    Had canelo by 2 possible 3 the start cost the miracle man but canelo is def on the slow down

    Gave too many rounds away in the first half of the fight. Judges gave some very decent scores for a change. Was waiting to hear 2 x 118-110 and a 119-109 or similar.

    4 very close fights. I think those 3 are extremely closely level and Alvarez just edges it but 3 supremely talented fighters. All at the same weight, at the same time and not avoiding each other is so rare.

    Spot on. More like Federer, djokovic, Nadal and Murray duking it out in the tennis than any of the pantomime that's going on in the heavyweight division

    WBC order Lomachenko v Luke Campbell for the 135 title vacated by Mikey Garcia.
    Hearn said fight likely to be in the UK.

    a step too far for Luke imo but would be great to have Loma fight over here.

    I said at the time it didn’t seem right. After the board announced an agreement for the fight Warren was reluctant to talk about it.

    It certainly seemed all or nothing for two heavyweights hoping to further their careers, which neither could afford to lose (dubois is young enough to recover I suppose, Joyce less so) but I didn't really pick up on warrens reticence.

    Local boy from Chatham got to the final of the ultimate boxer/prize fighter comp on BT sport. Grant Dennis boxed well and I thought could have nicked it but the knockdown probably took it away from him 

    As an aside while I like these competitions the MC was distractingly bad. Announced fight history the wrong way round, announced the wrong place the fighters were from, got the corners wrong. Imagine you are there, doing all your warm up and posturing about to enter a 3 round shootout, your big break on TV in front of a good crowd. And the mc announces you are from Nottingham, have lost 12 out of 13 fights and the gets your name wrong. That's a distraction and a disrespect you probably don't need
