Theres also a big difference in owning your own club, or working under someone else. The thought of steering Charlton to the prem is surely a better prospect then staying at Cardiff.Chris_from_Sidcup said:

Don’t buy it. Tan must have been aware of this pretty much since first contact by Dalmans people with Charlton. Any “please reconsider “ would have been said weeks possibly months ago. Impossible for Dalman to have kept Tan in the dark and if he did then Tan would have every right to be pissed off.KBslittlesis said:

kbls idea does seem to make sense. dalman releases the story and is then given an increase and then releases another story to the same journo on how he is staying.

in the other hand the statement is very nom committal. bit to make a statement at all when he could have kept stum, then be gone in 10 days would seen strange. but this guy is by all accounts a shrewd operator and maybe it could happen. it really does feel like it could be a perfect storm if darman picks up the club now. we're on the Crest of a wave and with the right backing we could be on the brink of something special. just like 2013, the backing didnt come then but Powell's skills still meant a good season, if dalmat takes control it could go step further this time 🤞

Dalman is hugely wealthy. He does what he wants to do. A few grand a week won’t make him stay if he wants a new challenge.
