Look here.....OK, Parker may not have been what can be described as a roaring success during his stay with us but the fella gave his all and deserves a big thank you for the genuine effort he put in.
There is no justification whatsoever in coating him off with scummy comments, he was wild with excitement when the winner went in and celebrated our victory as enthusiastically and joyfully as any of the other lads, no doubt in the knowledge that his time with us was up.
Some posters can be unnecessarily cruel in their comments and should feel ashamed.....he tried his hardest, acted with honesty and determination in every aspect, so much so that Bow and JJ had confidence in him, that alone was good enough for me.
He chased his dream and became a professional footballer who walked the walk and talked the talk and won a playoff final WINNERS medal in front of 80,000 at Wembley,
Would have cut my arm off to have that on my CV......who on here wouldn’t I ask myself.

Good Post 👍  Will always think fondly of the fella despite his limitations.

Josh Parker’s name will be etched into the CAFC history books and there’s nothing anyone can do to take that away from him. Thank you Josh - very cool!

Now, what the pissing hell are the EFL playing at? Not having Hemed at our disposal has already (potentially) cost us a second round tie at Bournemouth as well as two points from Barnsley. Probably not true but we are well within our rights to make that case to the EFL.

They need to get their act together soon or I’m beginning to get on side with Golfie and co.

Set them a reasonable deadline ie Brentford game at the weekend. We will be naming him in the squad unless we hear differently before then.

So when does this Josh Parker’s transfer get the green light from the EFL - or is that some other guy?
  • At last things are beginning to happen. The EFL have put together a panel to deal with this dispute.

Oh the Josh Parker who won the free kick  that was taken quickly, that won us promotion.
Oh yes he’s shit.......have a word with yourself.
He was shit. He had a good ten mins at Wembley but still went for glory with a backheel when Aribo was free in the middle. He missed an open goal at home to Rochdale and was pretty much useless his entire spell with us.

He played an integral part in our winning goal at Wembley and I'll forever be thankful for that, but let's not pretend he was a decent player.
Great to see our own fans calling one of our own players shit. Played a full part in our Wembley promotion but that’s apparently shit.

Some people might think that some of our supports are shit. I couldn’t possibly comment.
That’s not the full picture though is it. Parker had a couple of good games (admittedly at the right time) and he deserves praise for the way he played in those games.

But overall he was still poor for us. It’s not fair for you to say someone is a shit supporter for stating what they saw. I would agree if those supporters didn’t support him on the pitch but not just for having an opinion.
Here’s my problem with this. Charlton signed Josh Parker. He didn’t start hanging around The Valley looking for a game. We approached Gillingham / the player and signed him. Now we’re pretty sure he wasn’t probably our first, second or perhaps even third choice but he was OUR choice. Never saw a game where he didn’t graft and give 100%. Not his fault he’s not Harry Kane but he put in the sweat and probably achieved the highlight of his career playing in our shirt. He delivered along with every other Charlton player in our formidable run in and eventual Wembley win. Not the most talented player ever to pull on our colours but Shit he wasn’t and it’s a disgrace to disrespect him by saying so.
I am 100% in agreement with that. I cannot take anything away from him. As a Charlton fan, I can forgive a player for being poor and giving 100%, it's people like Ravel Morrison with loads of talent who don't give a shit that piss me off. That's why Ajose was criticised so much over the last few years.

And if anybody on here criticised Parker for his lack of effort, they would be chatting nonsense. But they are not chatting nonsense saying Parker was poor (even if you disagree). He was a striker who put effort in and one whom I supported everytime I saw him play. But to say he wasn't poor overall is untrue. Saying he's decent because he won a free kick is rubbish too.

However, I do think this has been done to death. He did give it his all, he helped us all have a memorable day and continually going over this is pointless (although let's not forget Forever's original post was pretty tongue in cheek).

Damn it. I was getting excited we had another Andy Delort on our hands. His dad didn’t even have a chance to get involved. Oh well, maybe in the next transfer window
  • Well happy with that

Bowyer and Gallen deserve a medal.
    Fucking get in.
  • As Louis says though, fucks you off as could have made the difference against Barnsley with his experience

Not saying that Aneke was shit when he came on (honest!!) but with Championship experience would Hemed have had his shot saved had he gone 1 v 1?
